Hi, I am a single mother of 3 children and would like to relocate, somewhere sunny, preferable with a beach. I graduated nursing school in May 2006 so I have almost 3 years experience, I now work in home health, but have worked in a long term care facility previously. I would be moving with no support system so I would like to have on site daycare, if at all possible. My children are 4 months, 7 years, and 9 years. Please, any information will be helpful!!

I can't give you any advice about where to work , but I live in Florida and it's sunny.........but I would take Tennesse ANY day of the week. I have heard that Central Florida doesn't have the very best pay and is just a hard place to be a nurse. Of course that is just what I have read here on allnurses.
Good luck in your adventure!

I can highly recommend Tallahassee, FL. It is a beautiful city for raising a family. We have two large hospitals to choose from (one with onsite daycare). Tallahassee Memorial (http://www.tmh.org) has many accolades and is a great place to work. Our area has great schools, activities, museums, arts, etc. We are approximately 1 hour from the beach. Our kids enjoy it the lifestyle here as do we! :)
If you have any specific questions please feel free to PM me. Good luck with your plans!

I've lived in south Florida and in SW Pennsylvania. Florida is sunny and uncomfortably hot, Pennsylvania is often cloudy and winters are brutal but the rest of the year is pleasant. My next choice would be Tennessee. No beaches but there are lakes and there is sunshine with livable winters and a full change of seasons.

Be sure to check with Hospitals and facilities that offer relocation reimbursement! I was given a big fat check for $1,500 when I relocated for my job.
I am in CA....right next to the beach, too!
