So a little background...
currently engaged, fiancé is busy in med school, no kids, undergrad paid off (yay!)
I have wanted to be an NP since I graduated high school... I am VERY motivated and ready to put in the work. Seriously I’m ready to sacrifice.
I have applied to several brick and mortar programs but I am trying to be realistic with how that might work once it comes to my Fiancé’s schooling (ie we dont know what state he will get a residency) Online school would offer flexability and I do feel I would like it more. We are already a state apart from each other, would be nice if we could live in the same one once he graduates...lol
Today I spoke with a simmons rep and it sounds like a dream come true...looking to hear some REAL facts! My big concern is I’m seeing people say that the content tested is outdated and not accurate, is this true?
Also would love to hear about other programs. I’m stuck on simmons as they offer clinical placement and a previous co-worker had only good things to say.
Thanks!
This is where I’m seeing the “scary” stuff about the program:

I would be wary. A lot of online programs say they'll offer clinical placements, but in reality they only offer you assistance when you go around begging for preceptors. Simmons might place you but you probably have to travel to MA (if you move away). This is an important question because if you are not guaranteed clinical placements, it's not worth going to Simmons. It's a very expensive school and you have other choices.

I’m seeing a lot of this as well, biggest reason I’ve been avoiding online dispite reality. A girl I worked with just graduated from simmons and they found most of her and her classmates clinicals. She had excellent things to say about the program. I’m thinking that combined with my own network should be sufficient. Unforuntately I have noticed that even brick and mortor schools in my state don’t guarantee placement or at least you have to set it up yourself anyways and most of the B&M programs are half online anyways ?. Luckily Mass is actually a good option for me for clinicals. HOWEVER none of this matters if they teach out of date material like what those reviews say

I would wait until he is placed in residency. Not all states allow clinicals for all schools. It would suck to get 3/4 done then move and can’t do clinicals there.
