Simmons online fnp, will I regret it?
I’m seeing a lot of this as well, biggest reason I’ve been avoiding online dispite reality. A girl I worked with just graduated from simmons and they found most of her and her classmates clinicals. She had excellent things to say about the program. I’m thinking that combined with my own network should be sufficient. Unforuntately I have noticed that even brick and mortor schools in my state don’t guarantee placement or at least you have to set it up yourself anyways and most of the B&M programs are half online anyways ?. Luckily Mass is actually a good option for me for clinicals. HOWEVER none of this matters if they teach out of date material like what those reviews say

This is where I’m seeing the “scary” stuff about the program: https://www.gradreports.com/colleges/simmons-college

Simmons online fnp, will I regret it?
So a little background... currently engaged, fiancé is busy in med school, no kids, undergrad paid off (yay!) I have wanted to be an NP since I graduated high school... I am VERY motivated and ready to put in the work. Seriously I’m ready to sacrifice. I have applied to several brick and mortar programs but I am trying to be realistic with how that might work once it comes to my Fiancé’s schooling (ie we dont know what state he will get a residency) Online school would offer flexability and I do feel I would like it more. We are already a state apart from each other, would be nice if we could live in the same one once he graduates...lol Today I spoke with a simmons rep and it sounds like a dream come true...looking to hear some REAL facts! My big concern is I’m seeing people say that the content tested is outdated and not accurate, is this true? Also would love to hear about other programs. I’m stuck on simmons as they offer clinical placement and a previous co-worker had only good things to say. Thanks!

Advice on asking for references
Thats a great idea thank you! I have quite a few charge rns so that could work. I sent emails out to my previous managers, I will have to call the facility to see if they will except charge rns

Advice on asking for references
Hello! I am a new rn in the later half of my first year at level one trauma emergency department, where I was also a PCA in nursing school. I have just been offered an interview in another emergency department in another state as I am trying to move. They're asking me for two manager references, I'm unsure if I should ask my current managers or previous managers. My previous managers were mainly around when I was a PCA. I'm nervous to ask my current managers as being such a large department it's always rough when we lose nurses and I'm not sure how it would reflect on me if I don't get the job. I was hoping to not have to tell them I'm interviewing.

Thank you both!

Just starting dosage calculations
So if I change it around and do (60ml x 10gtt/ml)/60min = 10gtt/min does that sound right? The 1000ml was certainly a distractor and I was using that as the total amount infused

Just starting dosage calculations
Hi everyone! I'm just starting with dosage calculations and I'm a little flustered to say the least. This is one of my practice problems: The physician orders 1000ml of 0.9% of sodium chloride IV over 60 ml/hr. On hand is tubing with a drip factor of 10 gtt/ml. What drip rate would you use? I think the formula is [amt to be infused x drip rate]/duration of infusion. I'm not sure what to put for duration of infusion or how to translate 60ml/hr. Would I do 1000ml/60 min?
