Simmons FNP May 2015 Cohort

Published

I didn't see a thread on this already. I'm working on my application right now for the May cohort. I'm thinking I might start in the Fall, but was told that start time received the highest number of applications and that I could delay my start if I wanted to apply to an earlier date. Anyone else doing this? I'm feeling a time crunch, as I'm moving to South Korea in April and wanted to have it all done. Simmons is one of the few online FNP programs that will allow me to do my clinicals on any military base world-wide, which is a huge help. I'm really excited, but have no idea what my chances are for acceptance. I have less than 2 years of experience, so I'm pretty weak in that area. How are applications coming for everyone else?

Heard from admissions today - I will be joining the May 2015 cohort!

Congrats as well. I'm glad all 3 of us have been accepted. Deepbluefive, I guess you'll be telling me how it is then huh haha add me on 2SN if you can.

Phyllis, is that FT or PT, FNP or bridge to FNP?

Yeah bud, I guess I'll have to be your eyes and ears, hah. I added you on 2SN

Thanks everyone! I was starting to get a little nervous, to be frank.

oscar.a - it will be FT (I work PT, and from what I have read, that is the only way to make it work - other than not working at all), straight into the FNP program, no bridge.

Deepbluefive,

Yes you will haha aright then, I'll log in.

Phillis' mom,

That's great, I wish I wouldn't have to do the bio bridge. Then again all that matters is that I'm in.

I've heard really good things about the bridge course, though, lots of people thinking it really gives a leg up.

Really appreciate all the info on this blog! I too will be starting in May With Bio Bridge and statistics refresher.

I just submitted all materials, too. Waiting to hear from faculty. 18 years of hem/onc and transplant experience, but a BA in a liberal arts field. Good undergrad and nursing GPA's, excellent letters of recommendation. Crossing my fingers and pacing the floor!

Good luck! You sound like you would have a lot to offer with all of your experience. The waiting is hard, but it seems like they have a pretty quick turnaround. Fingers crossed for you.

Congratulations to all who have been accepted! I too will be starting in the May 2015 cohort (full admit). Is there any current students on this thread who would like to comment on the first term? What to expect?

Down to the wire. ..do I accept Simmons, Indiana Wesleyan OR Hold Out For Frontier fnp? Decision deadline tomorrow. Need advice.
