I just found out today I was accepted into the full time March 2014 cohort. I wanted to see if anyone else on Allnurses would be attending Simmons in March...or any other cohort feel free to post...with me! I also joined the facebook page as well. Looking forward to this new adventure next year!

I think they are having to either verify something from one of you colleges attended (like a syllabus or something) or else they are waiting for one of your recommenders to give additional information...it has to be "Something" holding it up. It just seems like it's been way too long. I applied Oct 28th, everything accepted around Nov 1st-ish, and was notified like Nov 18th via phone call then f/u emails.

Something has to be holding them up.. I just figured out of the million times I ask that I might receive an answer as to what it is! Oh well!!

It's got to be, because my friend who also applied (in Dec) just received her acceptance email, but did not get a call from --- so I'm thinking he is off or out sick today possibly. I would call the 800# and ask them to check on things. Her app took 4.5-5wks tops.

just received her email 5min ago i meant to type!

Maybe I should call and check on things on Monday? Probably too late to donor now.

Sorry just saw this.. there is usually someone there till 8p. Not sure on weekends though. I think there is something seriously mixed up to be that long. 4 to 6wks everyone hears And yours is twice that time. Unless you had some special circumstances....forgien schools, tons of different transcripts to go through or something they had to verify I can't see what the hold up is.

Hey Tasha,

I might be applying, but probably for the May cohort. Make sure you share your experience with us since Simmons is so new and no one knows much about it. Have you received a book list or syllabus yet? I'd love to know about that!

I applied so early to my cohort (back in Nov to start in March) that i'm just now getting ready to do my welcome call this week. I will post here as I get more info for others who are curious about the program...so far I have NO complaints at all!

For students that have completed the first semester at nursing @simmons. Has the school said anything about clinical placement help? i was accepted to simmons and UC , but only want to pay the extra money with clinical placement assistance.

Thank you

Welcome call completed; went over online classroom links, the 2SN system (the platform you do all your work online) which is exactly like the Georgetown University program...tonight i'm doing the webcall to meet the faculty. Really feel very very very supportive through student support, financial aide, as well as the enrollment advisers. I have no complaints thus far and will be attending classes full time. = ) Will add more info as I get it...as far as clinical placement- I spoke to them and was told that I can submit ANY names I want of any providers i have made contact with, however, if i do not have any the placement team will work with me to place me starting 6mo prior to clinicals.

Had the "Meet the Faculty" webinar/call (the online web cam classroom is soooooo cool btw!). They went over the virtual classrooms, registering for classes, student support numbers, and just a basic meet and greet. No new info really that I can post yet. I get to register for classes starting on Tuesday which I"m super excited! =) The live classes in the virtual classrooms will be done one time per week/per class at about 1.5-2hrs each at scheduled times.

Well I'm all registered for classes now! One on Wed evenings and two on Thursdays! Super excited and ready to go! It was the easiest registration ever! Took me all of 3min And done!

I am registered for the biology bridge class that starts in May. I was hoping for evening times but no professors have signed up for evening slots. I was a little bummed by that because of work scheduling conflicts. Has anyone heard anytime about possible class time additions?
