  1. Dmcvicurn503- was the 3.8 GPA your ASN and BSN combined or just your BSN? Thank you for all the info!
  2. Hello, I know this thread was started a little while ago, but would anyone be willing to share their Stat's they had in order to apply to this program? I am very interested in applying for Spring of 2020 and want to start getting everything in order now. I am currently working in the NICU, over 1.5 years now. I am planning to become CCRN this fall/spring, along with taking PALS and ACLS, and my GRE's. Any advice you can provide would be much appreciated as well. Thank you!

Hello, i am a newer NICU nurse and was wondering if anyone has any good references for respiratory material on things like the jet/ ossilator and how to understand the settings on them such as amp, hrtz, map, IT, and good info on blood gases. Anything to understand any and all respiratory information would be greatly apprecriated. Thank you!
  4. Thank you so much for the advice!! I will study up on the things you mentioned!!
  5. Hey Everyone, Since nursing school, I have worked in a long term care facility for 4 years. I am about to change my position and work in a hospital on a medical surgical floor. I am nervous about this because I did such basic nursing in long term care. I was wondering if anyone could tell me things I should brush up... labs, medications, procedures, common diagnosis's/treatments/nursing implementations ... anything that I can study that will help me during this transition would be SO appreciated! Thank you!! Dee
  6. You think? so now i have more to be nervous about, haha. There are SO many hospitals and health care facilities around this area though. I have a hospital 5 minutes away from me. Ekkks, i hope that wouldnt be the reason they don't accept me.
  7. Hey Tasha! I did email him this morning and it wasn't very helpful. I said: Checking in, again. It's been a very long 12-ish weeks. I'm just wondering.. Is someone on vacation or did some of my credits needs further verification from previous schools? I'm just wondering what could potentially be taking so much longer than others I know who have stated they applied (at a later date than me for March cohort) and have already heard back. Any feedback or explanation would really be appreciated. replied this AM and said: We have actually have had a lot of closings due to snow and other weather related issues here at Simmons, the holidays also didn't help with decision turnaround time. Local applicants are viewed separately from other students due to a limited number of preceptors in the local area. I will reach out to faculty to get an update for you. so it doesn't really explain it. Most of you applied same time I did and are from out of state.. I am 45 minutes from Boston. So I am hoping he does ask the faculty and get back to me. But I wit hold my breath..
  8. Congrats! Did you just find out this AM? When did you apply? I did back in November for Natch and still waiting to hear.
  9. I have an email ready to go.. but I am afraid to email today because I know campus is closed til 4pm so I probably wont hear back. So ill email DH tomorrow and hope he responds back with some sort of answer as to why I am still waiting...
  10. Maybe I should call and check on things on Monday? Probably too late to donor now.
  11. Oh I got the financial aid webinar invites directly from Simmons and already attended that. I just happened to receive an email from FASFA yesterday as well.
  12. Something has to be holding them up.. I just figured out of the million times I ask that I might receive an answer as to what it is! Oh well!!
  13. Yup, I have. Never a really good answer, haha. They stated Holidays and snow days" but why have others been reviewed and accepted? This wait is SO Hard. I had maybe a 3.1 in my Associates RN. (Dont know exact GPA because that includes classes I took at the school that had nothing to do with my nursing degree as well). I had a 3.9 for my BSN. I am pretty sure at least a b/b+ average in all my sciences that are fairly up to date. I had either a c+ or b- in statistics. I have been an RN for 2.5 years, and only have experience in long term care and drug and alcohol detox, but Simmons says experience really isn't a factor.
  14. i applied November 4th and received an email on November 8th that my app was complete. I applied for the march cohert. I'm going on to week 11 now and still have not heard. People above heard a lot sooner then I have and applied much later than I did.
  15. Ohhh okay, good to know. I received another email from fasfa to file my loan for the 2014-2015 season. Hmmm!!! Did you hear from -- today? I did not.
