Today I had the daughter from hades, and I pretty much spent my whole report talking about the difficult daughter of the patient, instead of the patient...That daughter just wasn't going to let me alone for more than 15 minutes at a time...
Sorry . . .:sofahider . .... but that would drive me crazy . . . . .
We have two nurses on - we take turns giving report to the two nurses coming on. Waiting to give report while the other nurse is ranting and raving is hard.

Yep, one of my coworkers (who was well acquainted with my difficult day, having helped me answer that call light) good humoredly complained to me, although she understood. I don't blame her.
But, at least I didn't have the drug addict, morbidly obese prostitute who was masturbating with all her covers off.
We truly encounter every single solitary type of human being as nurses...
Thank God I got called off today, I was afraid if I requested not to have the pt with the accusatory, demanding daughter, that I would get the masturbating drug addict (I had had her briefly last week when she came down from ICU at shift change)
The sun is shining, I think I'll go dig some worms and go fishing today.
Thank you! I deal with this all the time! I stop the nurse and say something but then I feel like I am the only one who does this. You are receiving report, what makes you think you get to interrogate me ? Shut up and LISTEN. Oh yeah, then when I think I have been extremely clear...I come back to work lets say only 2 days later and the report I get does not include the information I passed on only 2 days ago!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes me think my nurses are only hearing half of what I say.:banghead:
