Hey guys! I didn't see a thread for applicants for Sam Houston State University BSN Fall 2019, so I decided to make one. I am in the process of making my NursingCAS application.
My Stats:
Teas Overall: 86%
Math: 93.8%
Reading: 85.1%
Overall GPA: 3.5
Pre-Nursing GPA (according to GPA calculator on shsu website) : 3.5
I do have credits from SHSU, and I also took MATH 1370. I am not a licensed CNA, although I did take the course.
They usually never say what your spot is on the waitlist. You could be the first one up or anywhere in between the 30th one.
I feel stuck right now. I don’t even know whether to move on with chamberlain or wait for SHSU? I don’t like this at all. Do you know how I can see what I have in progress to do?

I know how you feel. I'm currently waitlisted for 2 schools and have been waitlisted before so I recommend waiting a week or two just to see if people deny their spots and if you don't hear back you can just start looking into Chamberlain bc getting off waitlists can be a little difficult. What do you mean by in progress to do? For Sam, like pre-reqs?

Yes pre-reqs. The email said to get in progress work completed before fall 2019 so I was wondering if there’s a way to see an evaluation or degree plan on the student portal.

They will do an evaluation if you need it but if you did all your nursing prerequisites and Texas core it’s talking about your, TB test, your BLS CPR training, and your flu shot

Ok I have BLS, TB and flu shot etc. I’m taking my last classes now.
I wish I would have found this thread so much sooner, I’ve been suffering alone waiting to see if/when acceptance letters went out. I got in!!! Who else? I would love to connect with you to share info and just get to know some others.
Congrats on getting in! I didn't get in but I'm going to UTMB in the spring! Everything works out y'all and DON'T GIVE UP!!! This was my second time applying and I got in. Keep on working toward that degree!
