Show Me The Moneeeeeey ! !

:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeatHello All ~ I am graduating in August and I am starting to look at potential employers. I am ready and willing to move, as Iowa is not the best place for a new grad when it comes to salary. So, I'm definitly wanting to relocate and I'm trying to get an idea of somewhere where I can find a great job that pays well without cost of living being outragous  Any advice will help me start my search:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat

Are you very far from Mayo Hospital/Clinic in Rochester, MN?

I was just checking out their jobs for RN's, and starting is 27.57 for most jobs (and there are plenty of jobs there). Also, cost of living isn't too bad in Rochester.

I know I am not an RN YET, but will be in a couple of years, and I like to look! ;)

Good Luck!

:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeatYeah. . I have looked at Mayo. . .I have definitly considered it, but I just wanted to see what my other options are. . . Thanks for the reply:heartbeat:heartbeat:heartbeat

27.72 Mpls Vamc.

I was going to say that Jersey has great paying jobs for nurses until I read the part about the cost of living. The only thing you will find cheaper here is- surprisingly- gas. Everything else is inflated beyond belief and you don't even want to KNOW about the property taxes.

Boy I love this state! :heartbeat

If you don't mind the heat or the long way from home, Houston, TX may have what you're looking for. It boasts the largest medical center, anywhere. There are at least 4 magnet hospitals in the medical center alone and the new grad pay is around the $26 range. Cost of living is low and luckily the housing market has not taken a hit as hard as some other parts in the country have. Good luck.

:yeahthat: I am leaving Iowa in 3 weeks relocating to Houston...I cannot wait, espically when Feb rolls around I know I will not regret it!!

Texas is supposed to have the highest salary benefits compared to the cost of living.

What type of place do you want to live in? Coastal town? Mountains? Warm weather all year around? Cold weather in the winter? Big city? Small town? etc. These things are important. You don't want to find yourself sitting in your apartment all alone because you hate the area you moved to.
