So Im already planning on leaving my current outpatient pacu job and go to the ICU. But my worry is, will they accept me because it has been 5 years since I had my inpatient experience? I already forgot a lot of my skills. Should I go first to telemetry before ICU? I've always been interested in experiencing the ICU but I'm always scared. My previous experience was in ED and currently working in the outpatient PACU. How do I prepare if in case I get a job in the ICU? Thank you!

Apply to ICU. What have you got to lose? All they can do is say no. Appears that you have some solid experience. Good luck!

Remember that they hire new grads to ICU now all the time. By comparison, you are far more qualified. Have confidence and go for it ?
