Last summer I took A&P1, microbiology and worked full time...and made A's in both classes. If you are focused and can manage your time well, I know you can do it. I was worried that I made the wrong decision at first, but I actually became so focused on making the most of my classes that I learned a lot! It also helps if you enjoy those types of classes....I love science so it made it easier for me sit down and study... I say go for it! Good Luck!
I took A&P1 last summer and am so glad I did. I got it out of the way and I only had that one class to concentrate on. My instuctor scared us all by saying we were all crazy for taking it during the summer! LOL But he just liked to kid around :) I got a B in the class. I wanted to have my life too and spend time with my family but many people made A's in the class. One girl took our class and Statistics too and made A's in both. Like another poster said, it's totally doable! :) Good luck!
I agree with what the others have said. Just wanted to add that A&P is a lot of memorization, so if you don't mind spending the time to remember everything in a short time period, you should be fine. I'm currently in A&P 2 and took both as regular semester classes, and it feels almost slow paced to me. I could easily see it as a summer class as long as you have the time to study during the week.
I took it over a summer session. It was intense, and it was fast paced, but that was all I had to focus on and it worked for me.
Any chance that same professor would be teaching it over summer?
There is a chance but I was thinking if I was there the first day of registration then hopefully I will be able to pick the professor I want. If by some chance he is the only one teaching it I will not be taking it then. How many days a week were you in class? Do u remember how many hours a day? Thanks!

Hello everyone! I really need some advice from all of you experienced nurses and nursing students! I was enrolled in A&P 1 this sememster but I chose to drop it because at the last minute they hired a foreign professor that I couldn't understand. This is such an important class I wanted to make sure I learned everything that I could and I felt that would be impossible with this professor. I am trying to decide if i should take it during the summer semester or not!? Many people have told me that it would be good to take it then b/c that is the only class that you have to think about. I see their point but I am also worried that it will be so fast paced that I will be overwhelmed. Has anyone taken this class during the summer? If so, do you think that it is doable or do you regret it then!? I would appreciate any advice that you guys may have! Thanks!
