Okay so today I had my first day on orientation at a local hospital..I am a graduate nurse who will be working on permit. Well the thing is today I got called for an interview at another hospital, the health care system is very big, well known, great pay & benefits. The hospital I am currently at does not have the greatest reputation..I'm stuck now. Is it too soon or does it look bad to quit a job SO soon for another one? Where there is more growth & a health care system I dreamed of working for?? Advise needed! I'd feel bad quitting after a week or two and I already sent in my permit forms ):

Did you get an interview, or an actual job offer?
Just an interview so far, I would say anything to anyone unless I got a job offer. I know someone that is friends with the manager & put a good word in for me. I'm pretty stuck on what to do
Go to the interview. See if they make you an offer and then obsess over what to do. There's no need to make a choice, at this point.

Your current facility covered you to work on permit. That is a huge benefit.
Do not throw that away for an interview.

4.5 decades experience, here, go for the interview....take no action until "offer in hand"..... Ie: bird in the hand
I would never throw it away for an interview, I wouldn't take any action unless an offer was made, thank you all, I appreciate it! Just don't want to look bad if it comes down to that

If you do get an offer you need to keep in mind you may be marked as non rehirable at your current job for leaving during orientation. As others have said, don't say anything to anyone at your current job until you have a solid job offer.

Here's an option: Go to the interview and tell them about your current situation. Tell them as much as you want to work for Top-Notch General, you've already accepted an opportunity at Podunk Community. That as tempting as it is, you couldn't live with being so disloyal. Apologize for taking their time and if you decide to reapply there in a couple of years, you hope they would give you consideration.
Doesn't get you in to Top-Notch General right now, but they might not have hired you anyway. They might look on you very favourably when you do apply after some experience under your belt.
Just a thought. Good luck whatever you decide.
