I need an advice. I am currently working as an ED nurse in a busy hospital. Everyday is really a struggle because of not enough support and just difficult for me to position/transport patient. I have been working in the hospital for almost 4 months. I have been applying for ambulatory care nurse job, and in one hospital they just emailed me that my application has been forwarded to the hiring manager. I tried transferring to another unit but they wont let me not until I worked 6 months in probation excluding orienatation time. So my question is, should I just leave my current job or wait for a job offer and then leave? Thanks!

Don't leave without another job if you can at all help it. In fact, maybe try to hang in and see if things get better with some time at your current position. Are you a new grad? Your post has that sort of feel to it...

Properly resign from your current position after accepting another offer.
I assume you don't want a long stretch without work. Your other posts indicate your dissatisfaction with this position and you "gotta do what you gotta do" as they say, but it would be wise to minimize your chances of making things worse. You still have to successfully interview and actually be offered a position elsewhere. Don't make moves that would commonly cause potential employers to question your judgment. It's possible that they will already see your leaving during orientation as somewhat questionable (that is not judgment from me, just the facts as commonly reported ?).
Hang in there and good luck.

Yeah, it is easier to get a new job if you have a job.

Correction: Leaving during the probationary period, or after a short period of time in the position
Thank you! Im already in my probationary period. I'll try to stay strong up until I get a new job.

What if they fixed this problem. Would you stay?
I would stay. But I think it will never be fixed. They have high turn over rate. Really understaffed. Politics is crazy out there and all about favorites.
