***Should i go straight for my BSN for RN? what should i get first?

Published

i want to become a Flight Nurse. i recently got hired at a LTC facility as a CNA. I will start school this fall but i dont know what i should do first. I know i have to become a
RN
in the ER or ICU first before i can consider becoming a flight nurse. so whats the best route for me to get my
RN
? I would like to get my BSN or Masters in Nursing to become a Flight Nurse. Should i go straight for my BSN at a Washington University? OR should i get my LPN or AAS at a community college first? i want to gain the adequate experience hospitals are looking for. will being a CNA in the ICU give me the enough experience hospitals are looking for in
RN
new grads?

Go for the BSN.

It depends on where you live and plan on working. However, if you can, I would go the bsn route.

Given what you want to do, i.e ICU, ER, flight nurse, I would go the BSN route.

I would definitely do the BSN, most hospital systems (all hospitals in my area) are phasing out using ADN's all together in the next few years.
