Hi everyone,
I am a nursing student trying to learn more about burnout amongst registered nurses. Please answer this short survey to help me out! Thank you in advance.
1) 1) how long have you been nursing?
2) 2) where have you worked as a nurse?
3) 3) how do you define burnout?
4) 4) what are your personal experiences with burnout?
5) 5) how have you dealt with burnout? if you have not experienced burnout, why do you think that is?
6) Do you have recommendations for new nurses to prevent burnout?

Is there anyway you could poll nurses in person, where you live? I say that because that is what your instructor probably wants & also it is hard to verify that you are indeed polling RNs. Not to mention we come to this public forum to be anonymous.
No, in fact, I am trying to get a broader perspective on burnout and no one has to answer all the questions so it can be as anonymous as needed.

Honestly, this homework is suppose to be done in person. We get a lot of requests for interviews & such but this is the lazy way out. You need & should talk to nurses, in person. There is no way to verify you are actually talking to a nurse. For all you know the person on the other end of the screen is a truck driver or USPS worker.
I dont understand why this is so personal to you?! I would apprecaite if interested nurses could take a few minutes to respond...

It's not personal for any of us. Indeed, each of the dozen times per week we're asked, we don't take it personally. It's just that we understand the intent of the assignment and it's not to engage strangers in the Internet who may or may not be who/what they say they are.
Like Roser13 said, it's not personal. I am just trying to help you & point you in the right direction to get your work done. We tell this to every student who joins AN just to "interview" a nurse.
Good luck in school, but remember, there is no easy way out in nursing.

Have you tried using the search tool in the top right hand corner? If you enter the keyword burnout/burn out, you will see between 45,000-49,500 results on the topic. Some of the posts are fairly recent, consider asking one the OPs of a more recent burnout thread, if they are willing to answer your questions.
