Shoreline Fall 2014

Has anyone gotten a decision letter? I called last Friday, and she said she was working on them.

Anxiously waiting!

Journey, how is your house-hunt going? When you were at orientation, did you get my PM or see the notice on the nursing bulletin board about the room for rent? Good price and she offered even lower rent if you were only crashing there during the week. I was tempted myself except that working half-time PRN makes it impossible for me to know whether it's economically reasonable. That's one advantage to a Vancouver home base: commuting to school during the week is not an option!

I didn't see your PM until now. No email about it, and not visible until I specifically looked. Room sounds good, but I have 2 guinea pigs who I'm quite attached to. I've been communicating with a lady with a room, so I hope it works out...

Guinea pigs, adorable! How did you find the lead on the room? I'm still liking the idea of a crash pad during the week.

Especially my long-haired calico piggies. :-) I put my own ad on Seattle Craigslist under rooms wanted. That way I was able to list exactly what I wanted and let people contact me. (They hide your direct email address.) I'm sure you can find someone that has a futon for during the week. I mean, you'll be at school/clinical most of the time anyway.....

He was evil. LOL!

Tripleoxer,

I have a couple questions.

What are the shoe requirements for clinical?

Do you have any clinicals on the weekend? (I hope not.)

Do you think a smart phone is essential? I really don't want one, but some people on AN think they are a necessity.

Thanks!

Journey, I sent you a PM.

:( ... and now I can't lurk 'n' learn. My ignorance must come out into the open.

Why would we need a smartphone for clinicals? I would think they'd just be a distraction, if not banned outright but I realize I know nothing about nursing and probably many of my hunches will be just plain wrong.

No need for a smartphone. :-) Not allowed in clinical. The reason I asked because some students on AN use them for looking up medications, etc. and find them to be useful (if not essential). I'm happy with my cheap pay-as-you-go phone.
