Shoes

Help! Would someone please tell me what the most comfortable nursing shoe is out there?? I ordered the Clinic shoe, which I wore back in the 70's and were soooooooooo comfortable, but it seems they aren't as comfortable now 30 years later :o Clogs are out according to school policy & OSHA Regs.

I just bought some Birkenstocks and they are very comfy. $120/pair. They can be found on Ebay for cheaper though.

Lots cheaper. I just bought a pair of Birks from an ebay store, the guy owns a shoe store in real time and runs the ebay store from his shoe store. Bought a brand new pair for $48.00. That included shipping via UPS. I went to my uniform store to buy some scrubs and found the same pair for $119.00.

ebay... it's a way of life for me!

I now own 7 pairs of these shoes, they are all I wear, unless we're going to church. LOL I love them and my feet thank me after walking for over 12 hrs. a shift.

CROCS.... yeaaaa for CROCS !!!

My top votes for comfy work shoes:

SAS "Freetime" shoe (looks like white Reeboks, but soooo comfy)

and Earth Shoes (I wear these now... still comfy even after working 12+ hrs)

Both cost about $100/pair, but I am willing to spend that much for comfort. Best thing to do is try some on at the shoe store, as others have mentioned.

I love KEEN footwear. I can't wear Dansko b/c they rub the top of my foot horribly, but the KEEN shoes are awesome!!! They run between $70-110, but they are the most comfortable shoes- they feel worn in from the 1st time you wear them:)

a good pair of cross training athletic shoes are what works best for me. right now i've got a pair of swiss k i think it is. also avia has been good.

I love my Danskos, too! But if you are trying them on, try on a couple of pairs, even in the same size. Since they are hand-made, I have found that each pair fits slightly differently.

Love my Danskos. SoxFan is right, you need to try on several pairs. They took a couple of wearings to get used to, but now I am completely, madly, and comfortably in love with this brand. I have them in white and plan on buying a black pair as soon as I can. Definitely worth every penny.

anyone out there from southeastern pennyslvania? i am looking for shoe store for nursing shoes that employee will fit. i'm tired of picking out myself and then getting home and wearing and they are not a comfortable fit after 12 hour shift.i live between Lancaster and exton, west chester area but would drive to store willingly-thanks lujological (veteran nurse)

I have tried various brands. Generally I wear some Sketchers or the Airwalk version of crocs.

Hey,

I am looking for the OSHA reg that says we can't wear clogs. I don't like them and I don't think they are safe in our work environment. anyone know about where I can find it?
