I am a new grad with plantar fasciitis and am not used to 12 hours shifts. I will be starting my first nursing job soon and want to invest in very comfortable supportive shoes. I don't want clogs or anything white. Any suggestions for a shoe that helps prevent flare ups? Thank you.

I wear Sketchers Shape Ups and love them! I also have PF and these work for me.

just curious, why don't you want clogs?
I have heard that many places wont allow clogs. I am not sure if my hospital allows them. I haven't found that out yet. Also, I prefer the comfort of having more of my foot covered.

Danskos are a very popular choice by many nurses and other professionals. They are expensive but I hear they are extremely comfortable. Unfortunately, they don't come in wide widths which is why I have not been able to try them out. I had PF and it took a year to get the symptoms under control-physical therapy helped, as did a pair of $20 arch support insoles from my local drug store. Good luck.
Thank you.

I would suggest that you try some Ecco brand shoes with a breathable mesh toe.

MBT's really help my PF. I can't speak highly enough of them. I have also found Birkenstock's to work well. I'd suggest trying some on at a shoe store to see how they feel.
Thank you
