Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

Just starting to prepare for CPNE and was wondering if anyone has used Sheri's online workshop "solely" and passed. I would have loved to attend a live workshop but can't afford the traveling expenses and all.... would like to get some input/advice, please.

~Thanks in advance :-)

Hey everyone... I'm studying for CPNE also... I have Rob's CPNE material.... I like it so far... I set up my home lab and everything....

I enrolled in Sheri's online workshop and the videos are great... I was able to watch them with no problem at first but I think my internet is too slow for the videos... Anyone else having that issue?!? Help ..lol

I had that problem too at first, so I started use Google Chrome instead of Firefox and Internet Explorer and they worked alot better :-)

Good luck everyone! You CAN do this! :-)

Hey everyone! I've been doing Sheri's online workshop. I love it and find it very helpful! I have my CPNE in two weeks and my nerves are starting to get to me. I feel more confident as the days go on though! I am ready to succeed in the CPNE!!! :o)

You can't let your nerves get the better of you!!! I understand bc I am taking my cone the first weekend in Jan. Good Luck and remember everybody is nervous!!! Show the CE's you KNOW your stuff!!!!

I have been thinking about sherri taylors online workshop. I think I may sign up for it. So glad I found this thread!!!!!:)

I've been waiting for a thread like this for a while and I'm glad I found it too. I think my nerves are from, "the time has finally come!!!" I feel pretty confident with everything. I went through a nursing program in Harrisburg Pennsylvania and didn't pass my final exam. I wasn't the best test taker. So my only other option was Excelsior. I've been waiting to be a GN/RN for a long time now and I'm excited for that day :o)

I do recommend Sheri's online workshop. She really knows her stuff and has great tips on how to be organized and efficient in your skills. Good luck with your studies and feel free to contact me if you need anything! We can do this :o)

I was also wondering about Sheri's at least it is pay as you go so if you don't like it you can stop after the first $150, but who even has that to spare:uhoh3: I am doing the same, outlining the study guide especially unit 4 critical elements and using robs, i printed out all his pictures for the mneumonics and put them on index cards with the steps in front and any notes in the back. Just got everything to set up my lab, still feeling a little overwhelmed by the whole process. I'm on page 173 of the study guide, found the taylors skills book online for free download and the fundamentals book and skills checklist and funds studyguide and the medsurge book and studyguide all the newest editions all downloaded for free, of course didn't find them till i finished all my classes, but i know i will still use them to prep for the cpne. Just ordered the taylors video guide but one edition back from alibris.com for about 4 bucks. feel free to contact me if you like. WE CAN DO IT! Don't forget EC's live cpne chat 2x a month next one is on november 3rd at 2pm est. The last one was helpful, no waiting to get your questions answered from the board.

Do you mind sharing where you found free downloads for these resources?

True. Thanks for pointing that out. That was an invaluable service as well as calling the ECE staff every chance I was allowed with my questions.. But, word to the wise, if you call them with a question then they know what your weaknesses are..For example, Respiratory Management. Don't be to shock if you see it in the actual cpne.. So, do make sure you prepare well for any questions, and or care plans you ask them about, or any suggestions that they make you. I hope this helps.

I couldn't disagree more. The Ec do not know anything about you and it clearly stated that you shouldn't talk about personal stuff with them. The go in on Friday and choose appropriate pt for us. I am a experienced med-surg nurse and was petrified of getting ortho (I mentioned being a med surg nurse many times when I msg them a question) and all the pt that I got were just like the ones I take care of daily. I also read a paramedic that said she had a ped with acute asthma and 2 trauma pt for her CPNE. Not trying to start a fight or something just do not want others to be scared to ask questions.
