Hello everyone,
I took my son to see a dermitologist at Kaiser and was wondering if the sharps container mounted on the wall could be physically accessed from the top with the hand.
My son was left unattended for a few and now I'm freaking out!
Thank you so much.
This one was placed on the wall and had a lock on the right hand side.
Looked something like this:

Thanks!
GM1987-I became intrigued by your posts and checked to see what other posts have been made by you. Feb. 19, 2007 you started a post about HIV+ needle sticks that took so many twists and turns, after 8 pages someone cried BS and the thread was closed for review. What is your obvious obsession with needle sticks? Also, at this point I have a hard time believing you are even a nursing student:(. So what is your interest in "accidental needle sticks?"
Could someone else check this out? This post is fishy!

At our nursing station and on our IV trays we use sharps containers that can be easily accessed, but in all of our patients rooms we use secured boxes.
As other people said, if you are desperate to get into a sharps container you probably can. This is why you keep a vigilant eye on your kids in this kind of setting.
