Sharp New Grad Winter 2014/2015

Published

Hey Everyone!

Just wanted to start a thread to see who all is going to be applying for the winter new grad program at Sharp! Good luck to all!

Mine still says under consideration. I think it could also be that depending where you applied the interview process is sooner. I remember that last year Mary birch stated their interview sooner. Memorial was one of the last ones. I applied for Chula Vista.

So stressful :( did anybody applied to OB Chula Vista starting 11/30? I wonder if she applied for that one , that's why her status changed sooner than most :(

My status is still "under consideration" as well since 10/14. I do think some departments move faster than others... The programs I applied for don't start until February, so they will probably move slower with the hiring process than the positions that start sooner...

Mine says the 19th... That's the day I applied so I'm assuming whatever day you submitted the app is what date that is

Yah mine says 'under consideration' as of the 15th but that's the day I applied too.....

HopefulRN4

She posted that her status changed today and that she applied to SICU and ED. Worries me because I applied to SICU also :(

Well for those of us that are still 'under consideration' ... I guess we are still in the running ! I wonder how many they are hiring ?

I don't know about Grossmont and Chula Vista, but when I last talked to the new grad hiring manager at Memorial, she said they were going to hire 11 but that wasn't for sure and that did not include specialty like ER. She said according to ER, they were thinking of taking 6-8 new grads.

Oh the suspense!! I actually graduate this semester so I know my app is a long shot, but I still wanted to apply. A girl can dream right!!!

Thanks for that info! Those are good numbers ! Better than just one or two per department right ?!

I've heard of people getting job offered and still in school. It can happen. Are you graduating with BSN or ADN? And which hospital did you apply to?

Considering you will be a fresh new grad.... I would think you would have a great chance ! Keep positive.

You're welcome! Do you have a BSN? Because according to the manager, they are only considering BSN for Memorial. And you have to have it completed (I can't remember if she said a month before or after the program started).

Well thanks!! I'm an ADN with 2 years as an LVN, I did chula Ed and grossmonts residency. Since I need to be sure to have my license I applied for the ones staring furthest away. I am open to any experience I can gain and I have really found my "nitch" yet, so hopefully with either of those I could gain that. Are any of you working now?
