Published

Hi all, just wanted to start at thread for all those applying to to Sharp Healthcare's summer new grad program for Grossmont, Memorial, and CV!

The application is supposed to open up tomorrow (2/18) at noon and I would love if all of us who are applying can keep each other updated ?

Good luck everyone!

Hi! I applied to MICU and PCU at Memorial. I'm external, have not received an email to self-identify, but am still under consideration as of today.

From Sharp website FAQ

I’ve received an email asking me to self-identify however the link doesn’t work. What do I do?

Please disregard this notification. As your application is reviewed, the system will generate this message however there is no need to take further action.

oh, thank you! appreciate it.

Just got a rejection email for one of the jobs I applied to (SMH ICU). Ahhhhh this fun....

@beh.qui if you don't mind me asking... are you currently doing an ICU preceptorship and if so, did you answer yes to the question regarding finishing an ICU preceptorship?

I emailed HR because as a student who is graduating in may, their questions were not worded very well and seemed to be geared towards folks who have already graduated. They told me to fill it out as if I have graduated already. So I'm thinking maybe some people who already got rejection emails got sent it automatically because of their filtering system?

Nonetheless, so sorry to hear that!!! ?

@coldbrewprn I agree that the wording on the questions was.... questionable. I am currently doing my ICU precept. and I think for the question asking if I had completed a precept. as part of nursing school I put yes. But in the education section I put I have not graduated yet. I also graduate in May, I'm hoping I still have one more chance! Along with the rejection email I got a separate self identify email and the link still doesn't work. Not sure if thats a good sign ?‍♀️

Has anyone heard back from Memorial PCU? ? wishing everyone the best!

Hi everyone! Second time applying, last time I hadn’t graduated/taken NCLEX yet. Previously, my status never changed from submission complete, or something like that. This time it said “under consideration” right after I applied. Got the self identify email both times. Status hasn’t changed! Applied to Grossmont ED. Good luck to us all ?

I worked at Sharp prior to application. I graduate in may, and @coldbrewprn, absolutely the questions are geared towards people that are already graduated..... Cant even answer them appropriately.

Got my rejection letter today, but it still says "under consideration" on the website... oh well.

@MandaNikki so sorry to hear!!!!! ? if you don’t mind me asking... what units did you apply to?

Hey guys :) First of all I hope we all find a suitable position to start off our nursing careers. I know it's tough - I've been applying in CA and out of CA and have had rejection letters left and right. I was in the middle of one application (it did say new grads welcome TBF) and got a rejection e-mail in the middle of applying! I feel like HR is so completely swamped with applicants that they might've had to filter them in some way. Some units already had plenty of requirements including a preceptorship/externship (which not every school provides, which sucks).

This is my second try at Sharp's program. I interviewed for the most recent fall intake and was turned down (didn't pass NCLEX on time..) but now I'm a graduate with my RN license. Formerly internal and have done most of my clinical hours at Sharp hospitals. So far I got the link to the self-identify. Still a waiting game for now.

I feel pretty good about my application this time. Maybe i just jinxed myself right here, lol. Regardless of the outcome there will be other opportunities out there...

I applied to ED first choice but shot myself in the foot from the start. I got my denial email this week and it's probably bc I didn't check the box that asked if I had 90 hours preceptorship in ED. But to be fair the Sharp website had 2 different requirement descriptions for the ED posts. One said they require ED preceptorship and the other said ED preceptorship or clinical experience and which I did have. But of course, the application didn't stipulate that. Oh well... you live and learn. Still waiting to hear back from my second pic-Med Surg.
