Sharp New Grad March 2022

Creating this thread for those who’ve applied to Sharp New Grad Residency for March 2022!

I chose L&D at SMB as my first choice and was wondering if anyone else did so/has had an update to their portal ?

I applied for their cardiac PCU and ICU, but I think the interview is for all of the units that they are hiring new grads.  Have you heard back yet?

I already had my interview with their ICU manager! Did your status on Sharp's career pages change? Mine hasn't updated since I actually applied

Wow! I wish you the best ? and no, not since 10/27. I’ve been checking it everyday, and I’m hoping that when it says “under consideration,” it really does mean that LOL

Thank you! I've been anxiously waiting to hear back any news at all but my status update is still the same as 10/11! I had an interview for the October Cohort but I had to withdraw and so now I am hoping that I will get a shot at March! I had a weird interview process because I did an interview with just the ICU manager and not the panel of managers at Sharp CV. Let me know how your interview goes!

I got a call today, they got my references figured out. I got the job at L&d for new grad ?

No worries! I interviewed on a Thursday, received my reference request e-mail a few hours after and then received a phone call the next Tuesday. My advice would be research the hospital so you know a bit about Sharp Mary Birch as they have a lot to offer! When I asked my interviewers about what they’re looking for they said retention is really important, so make sure they know if they hire you you’re in it for the long run. Since it’s a level three NICU they’ll probably ask about handling stress, so maybe think of ways you’d handle a high stress environment. Then lastly, the scenario questions like I mentioned. I did my externship in L&D so I tailored almost all my scenarios to either that or my clinicals in L&D, so if that applies to you I’d try and do the same for NICU. Good luck, you got this!

Thanks again for your responses! I had my interview last Wednesday and just got a call today that I got the job!

Hi everyone! Has anyone heard back from Sharp Grossmont after the reference check? I’ve been stuck in the reference section for over a week now.

Just wanted to say hi, I made it to SMH New Grad Program and was wondering if how many of us are expected to be in the cohort? As well as if there is a FB group for Cohort 37?
