I'm testing in few days i'm scared. i'm taking kaplan trainers and i don't wanna expect to much from my scores. I always feel unprepared. My anxiety is through the roof!:zzzzz

Guys, what were your scores in kaplan question trainers before the exam?did you pass/fail?

Thanks!

:banghead: :typing

Diagnostic: 59

Trainer 1: 61

Trainer 2: 60

Trainer 3: 51

Trainer 4: 55

Trainer 5: 62

Trainer 6: 66

Trainer 7: 58

Readiness: 64

Overall Qbank: 60%

I felt like I would never be ready to take the test but the last 2 weeks before my test is when I felt most confident because I was scoring in the 60s in qbank. Needless to say, I passed NCLEX the first time with 75 questions! Honestly, NCLEX questions are more basic than Kaplan questions. Don't be afraid if you get knowledge questions. I got 1 math question, at least 5 select all that apply, 2 drag and drops, a bunch of priority questions, a bunch of meds I had never even heard of and I really thought I failed since I felt like I guessed on 90% of the test. I compared my overall Qbank and Trainer scores with my classmates and I found that those with overall Qbank scores >57% passed. GOOD LUCK!! :)

thanks for sharing your kaplan and nclex expirience! i am also weak in pharm and i'm worried about it. i wanna know how you answer med questions when you've never heard about them?what was you technique? congratulations!

I hate to say this... but I seriously just guessed! You know how some meds have suffixes that help categorize in them? Well the meds I got had no familiar suffixes or anything to help give me a clue to what it was. There was no Digoxin, Atenolol, Lisinopril, theophylline, or any of the meds that were supposedly common on my test! I would like to think that maybe the meds I got were part of the 15 experimental questions that everyone gets on their test haha!

im in 51% in qbank as of now:banghead: .and my diagnostic test was 62% ,q1 87%,q251%:(,q348% :confused:readines 59%. when im in focused i got light higher , but not in the mood like in q2 and q3. i dont know , i will take mine in sept 4 . what do you think of my score.?:Crash: in qbank i got 73% in prioritization.

A lot of people say "don't look at your scores, instead go back to the questions and understand the rationale especially the questions you got wrong". I see some of the posts who scored lower but still passed and some got quite high but failed. Just practice more questions and understand the rationale. I also am scared because i'm testing on friday for the second time. You still have a lot time to review, don't cram. Just stay focused.don't answer questions if you're not in the mood otherwise you'll get lower scores and get disappointed. You also get higher scores so don't get disappointed. It also means you lack focuse sometimes that's why you get lower scores. Goodluck & God Bless to us!

thank you:rcgtku: for your encouragement. we will pass. i will include you in my prayers. Goodluck and God bless

i have been getting LOW scores especially during the beginning of my review. and by LOW i don't mean 50s like everyone keeps getting. so i focused on my weaknesses and watched the vids where i was weak in twice. i ran out of time during the diagnostic so i only scored 40%. on my readiness i got a 55%. trainers 1-4 ranged from 50-55. my trainers 5,6,7 were 60% but i did bad on the Qbank. i would only get 48%-55% on most of it, unless i include wrong answers. my first overall qbank score is only 51%, but i kept practicing til it went to 60%.

i did not even go through the meds section of the Kaplan book. i just scanned it for like an hour. i focused on the side effects of the common drugs instead. honestly, i wasn't confident at all. so i studied day and night 2 weeks before the exam. and by the 4th day before the exam, i felt prepared.

God is good and i passed with 75 questions :) they're right when they say not to look at the scores. i know someone who was always getting high 60s on the Qbank and Trainers, but made it to 265. although he passed, don't feel discouraged when you see good scores around. and like zelia mentioned, the nclex IS easier than Kaplan.

Goodluck!

jerzie0820 congrats!! i was one of the ones that got discouraged by my kaplan scores i was ranging 50-low60s, started getting down that i wasn't consistently meeting that passing range and started doubting myself. went into the exam and failed at 265. i am doing kaplan again and really reading the rationales because i didnt realize that was important the first time around and am now consistently getting in the 60s on qtrainers and qbank!! but i totally agree it's all about believing in yourself and going in with confidence!

did you use the kaplan strategy when you sat for the exam? i felt like i couldnt apply the decision tree to many of the questions? i think more understanding the stem of the question will aid you in determining the correct option...did you feel the same way?

I PASSED my NCLEX with 77 questions in June and I thought the NCLEX questions were a lot easier than Kaplan.

Good luck!

Congratulations! you did well in kaplan. I hope, i would also say the same after my test..:( i wish i'll find the questions easy and tolerable..

I did Kaplan Qbank only and finished it all with a 54% average at the end (scores were all over the place too) and passed Nclex with 75 questions. I am weak in pharm also and studied the ones I saw on the Qbank as well as common meds.
