SFSU Generic MSN for Fall 2010

Published

I went to their website today and found that the nursing application has now been posted. Due date is January 15, 2010. Now it's time to bug my professors for another round of forms and letters. I have one letter, but need the form to get filled out. It's so embarrassing to go back to the same people. I feel like I owe them the world. What's the most number of requests anyone has asked one person?

Anyway back to the application itself. On it you have to choose a Graduate Program Emphasis. If my goal is to become a Diabetes Educator, should I choose Adult Acute CNS or Maternal/Child CNS, or should I choose Public Health? Does anyone know if we can change specialties mid-stream?

Thanks.

I sent a message to the admissions specialist, asking for an update and reconfirming my interest in SFSU. He sent me a message a few days later giving me my current rank on the list and informed me that the wait list for spring admission will remain active until July 30. He also told me that if I was offered admission it would be via telephone and/or email.

I heard they are having new student orientation on the 28th of July.

Hey funforlife,

What is your email? I have some questions for you but don't want to post it to this thread.

Hey SunshineCali Girl,

Did you get into the program yet?

who on here in on the nursing adminstrative waitlist? Don't we have one person here would was #1 on that list -- if so, can that person please tell us if she'd been called yet? It makes NO SENSE that they woudn't have drawn any waitister from that major. Tha means everyone accepted would have enrolloed, and that is doubtful.

Can anyone shed any light on this list? Is it true no one has bee pulled from the waitlist for nursing admininstration??

does anyone know how many people from the adult acute care waitlist got in, so far?

I decided not to decline admission until I make sure I got my finances in order for MSMC, which I should know by the end of the month. So, eventhough my spot didn't open officially, almost 99% sure there will be an opening in Adult Acute Care soon enough.

I only know of 4 who got pulled from the Acute Care waiting list. Not each of them accepted, or if they did, they will recind it in favor of another school. Me, I took my spot. So besides me and Sugar, there have been 2 others called, for a tally of 4. I think one of those subsequent 2 wants to accept badly, but there is someone out there who was among numbers 1-4 who hasn't declared any intent, to this blog -- not the school. However, I bet things will change & I wish everyone the best. We have all heard stories of getting that phone call the night before orientation. Very few people only apply to one school, and demand this program as thier only option. I am the anonmaly there, not due to pride but circumstances. So just hang tight and ride it out until July. More will be called.

Has anyone heard anymore good news? I am hoping, and more than that I am nervous, for all those who are still waiting. I hope we hear a string of good news from you guys. It would be more diamonds down this, so far, dusty road.

Then Eddie Van Halen is getting married again, so I REALLY need some good news. If there is any out there, please do share.

Whoever is #5 on the list for the Adult Acute Care program, be prepared to take the GRE and start checking your email.

Hi everyone!

There hasn't been a posting here recently, so I thought I'd check in! I'm also wondering if anyone who is starting in the January 2011 cohort (I'm in the Public Health cohort) has had their admissions status change. We were told that we should see this change mid-August, but I"m just feeling a little paranoid ;-)

I'm so anxious for class to start and January seems so far away. I'll be studying and taking the GRE and refreshing some pharm and patho. I know the time will go quickly, but it seems a long way off right now.

I'd love to hear how the group starting this semester fares as well!

Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to see how orientation went for people starting in Fall.

Thanks!

Hello,

I don't know how to make a new posting so I thought this would be a good place to post my questions.

I am applying for SFSU Fall 2011. The application is not due until January 15th, however, I am taking my GRE analytical writing test on January 6th.

I am pretty sure my writing analytical result will not get to SFSU before the application deadline. I was wondering if it would be ok to put the receipt of the GRE with the nursing application, and let them know the GRE score is on its way. Is this ok to do or would they need the actual sent score before the deadline?

Also, my other question is if I need to take the whole GRE test or can I just taking the writing portion? Can I just leave the GRE testing right after I finish my writing? Has anyone done this?

Thank you so much!
