Hi Everyone! I did a search for SFSU ELMSN Fall 2017 and I didn't see any active threads so I thought I'd start one. This is my second year submitting program applications, first year to SFSU. I graduated with a B.S. in Environmental Management in 2012 and have been working for the past 4 years volunteering, prepping for entrance exams and completing prerequisites for a variety of nursing programs. I am hoping this year will be there. I'm also applying to Samuel Merritt's ABSN program, USF's Masters program for Non-Nurses, University of Hawai'i's GEPN program and Johns Hopkins University's MEPN program. Would anyone care to share their stats? Best of luck and Happy Holidays!!
Hello. I am curious how financial aid works for this program, since you get a BSN & MSN, were you guys awarded full federal financial aid for this (federal loans) if needed? Also the program is just 2 years correct? Thanks!
My reason for asking, is that Federal loans do not cover much for a 2nd bachelor's (12,500 per year), so I'm wondering how that works. Just trying to avoid private loans.
Thanks for getting it started etude1!
This site will not let me message you because I haven't posted 15 "quality topics"!
My email is [email protected] , can you email there and I can send fb info?
Hi everyone! Just saw this forum and I'm so excited! I've been looking everywhere to figure out who else got in. My name is Melissa :) and I got in for the adult gerontology CNS. I'd love to be on the Facebook page too! My email is [email protected]
Hello Everyone,
First of all congrats! I am hoping to be in your shoes one day. I will be applying for the Fall 2018 cohort and I was hoping to get some insight from you all :)
What were your stats?
What did you do to become a competitive applicant?
Do you know how many people apply/how many they accept?
Is the A-ELMSN more or less competitive?
I have been working as a cancer research coordinator for the past 2 years and have a publication and a few abstracts/poster presentations, so I have decent healthcare and patient experience. I also have a 4.0 prerequisite GPA. My main concern is regarding my undergraduate GPA which is a 3.01 :/
Thank you in advance and good luck on your nursing journey!!
Hey caitlynfb. I heard they sent out the interview invitations this week. Did you get one? I got in at USD but it is so expensive. Was hoping I would get in at SF state.
I got an interview invitation on Monday evening for next Tuesday 4/3. I'm not sure if they are sending them out still or not, from what I read from last year there were some late interviews the week after the main interview week? Good luck to you.
