SFSU ABSN 2022

Published

Hello! I haven't seen a thread for sfsu's ABSN 2022 yet so figured I start one.

Can someone please clarify if we need to do the supplemental application on nursingcas? It says that its due on Jan. 15th, but when I reached out to sfsu's nursing department, they told me it is not needed. Have others heard the same as well?

Looking forward to responses! ?

I applied all the way back in October when they opened the application! I’m getting very anxious to hear from them. Does anyone know if they are doing a waitlist this year?

I also applied early in the fall. I had all of my materials ready because I was planning to apply to the two year program at the main SFSU campus in August but then they closed that program to second baccalaureate students ? Based on the SFSU allnurses thread from last year, there should be a waitlist.

Hi Abi! I’m also Abby ? I live in east bay too and have also been stressing about how I’ll be getting to campus if I get into the program! I live a little further east than you but I’d love to connect with you about the potential for carpooling:)

Hi Abby! Sorry it took me a while to get back to you. I am assuming a lot of us will be in the same boat re: commuting. Once we hear from the school, we should connect with everyone in East Bay and see if we can figure out a carpool situation. I have a car, but I am still working on getting my driver's license.

Last year they got to #20 on the wait-list. I expect there to be a wait-list again this year.

I just checked online but nothing new. I was hoping it would be today. I'm getting anxious to know so I can plan on moving with enough time.

I agree! Very hard to make decisions on where to live this Summer when you still don’t know where you will be!

I called today and asked when admission decisions would go out and was told by mid-April. Seems to be cutting it super close to a May 31st start date..

That is so disappointing. Last year people were being notified in mid March. ?

I live less than 2 hours away and I’m so stressed about finding housing and getting settled in time for classes to start, I can’t imagine if I lived in SoCal ?I wish they would have a set date to hear by so we could all stop stressing!!

Agreed!

Does anyone know where a majority of the people who don’t commute normally live? Is there even an option for on campus housing? Will anyone be choosing to move to the city and commute? Or just move to San Mateo? I just honestly have no idea what to even prepare for at this point haha

I know! It feels like torture that they have made us wait so long!

I don’t think there will be any campus housing in San Mateo because it’s at the community college but they might have some in SF. However, housing prices in San Mateo are a little bit cheaper than SF so it might be best just to rent a room in San Mateo. ?‍♀️

I hope they give us a decision soon so we can plan our lives!

I just got my acceptance “recommendation” email contingent on being eligible for the graduate school!!
