I am not clear about what subjects will be covered in TEAS exam? Do we have to take all subjects tests such as Biology, Chemistry, Anatomy and Physi, reading, grammar or we can skip some subjects which are not required by SF state for ABSN.   I know one of my other college just needed HESI scores for just Anatomy and Physiology, Math, Grammar, and Reading.       What is needed in TEAS by SF State for ABSN?   I would appreciate any reply on this.

Hey! So, the TEAS exam has 4 sections: Reading, Math, Science, and English (in that order as well). It doesn’t give you the option to opt out of any section, and for SFSU you submit your overall score for points, so try to do your best in each section.

In each section, there are plenty of things covered. I’d recommend looking at some boards on here for some specifics (check out these, for example, for content and studying advice:

You can also look it up on the ATI TEAS website for further breakdown (ex. There are 53 Reading questions on the exam, 22 are about key ideas and details, 14 about craft and structure, 11 about integration of knowledge and ideas, and 6 pre test questions).

For studying, I personally recommend getting the Mometrix TEAS Secrets book in addition to some online practice tests you can buy off the ATI website (especially the package that includes 2 full practice tests + an A&P practice test. I personally didn’t really like the study guide from them, but maybe you would find it useful.) I also liked just going on random websites and doing TEAS questions off of them!

Best of luck to you!
