Seton Hall ABSN fall 2015

Published

Hi all,

I did not see a thread about Seton hall's accelerated nursing program starting in the fall 2015 so I decided to create one. I recently had an interview with Seton hall for the accelerated nursing program and I'm very eager to hear back from them with their decision because I am very interested in the program. Is there anyone else in this position? Also, is there anyone who was in this program and can tell me about their experience with the program. Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!

There's no way that's the deadline. I've been in contact with the school because i haven't received any information other than my acceptance letter, and July 1 is this week. They said acceptance letters are still going out!

Thats's what I was thinking. When they sent out the packet for the clinical clearance the deadline on the packet stated August 8. I was getting confused because they sent out a couple of emails stating that the deadline changed. I have been emailing the woman in charge of clinical questions and I haven't gotten a response yet.

I haven't received any emails. Would this be on that pirate net? It's frustrating because I'm so afraid I'll lose my spot because I am last to get any information. They confirmed I'm accepted and have a seat a million times because I call them a lot to make sure lol.

The whole thing was a bit confusing with the 8/8 and 7/1 deadline. If you're not done with everything, I wouldn't worry because the deadline on the SHU packet says 8/8. I think Certified Profile (who administers the clearance) likely automatically generates deadlines. Mo - when you get packet you can check with the contact person at SHU for clinical clearance to make sure.

Ksh88 - I think those emails, like most of the SHU emails we get, are meant for the traditional BSN students. I'm hoping we get some clarification on 7/8.

I just finished up all the steps. The worst part about it is that my insurance didn't cover all of my titers so I ended up with a big fat bill!

Mo - just call the assistant director tomorrow as she should be back. The emails I was referring to and I think KSH was too were the SHU address emails via pirate net. You didn't miss anything important. Most everything I've gotten on my SHU email is either a university wide announcement (like changes to parking or that someone died) or if it is nursing related it pertains to the traditional BSN students. I don't think we're expected to take any real action on pirate net except registration until after the 7/8 meeting.

Ok thanks Gerry. Yeah from what I'm getting from the person I've been emailing, they're late sending everything out and are still accepting students. I was assured there would be time for everything. I have bad health insurance I do hope these blood tests are not expensive.

Thanks Gerry for clarifying the email situation. It was very confusing and I wasn't sure if those emails and deadlines pertained to our program or not. Now I'm not so worried that I won't have everything in time. Now I'm just worried about the bill I will be getting for all of my tests. lol

So does anyone know what they are doing with the certified background due dates? Are they going to push the due dates back? Because a few things of mine are now rejected because it says its past the due date now that its June 1.

Did you try to upload something to the site and it rejected it because its past the due date? Once I get my results back and try to upload something I will have to see what it says. I will probably call them tomorrow to ask about the due dates.

I'm not sure. Even though my background check is done it says overdue because a school administrator is supposed to enter the date completed. I emailed the clinical clearance contact person at SHU about it yesterday but haven't heard anything back yet. I had my first Hep B Antibody rejected because the lab didn't include reference ranges. I think Certified Profile lists overdue items as Overdue and calls things Rejected if there is a problem with what was uploaded.

Gerry did you have to redo the Hep B Antibody test or were they able to reprint the lab report with the reference ranges?

Both. I knew I'd have to retake it because I wasn't yet immune (before the Hep B vaccine). When I retook the test I asked for the lab results to be printed with reference ranges and they were able to provide them.
