I have to write a paper and perform four hours of community service for a school project. I don't think the topic has to be anything specific except that it involves performing some community service. Any ideas what one could do? I was thinking of contacting the local elderly nutrition center. I thought some people here might have more creative ideas. It has to be on an adult, but isn't 17 years old considered an adult in the nursing world? I thought maybe I could do something at the local high school too. I'm not sure what though.

Do a little research about what non-profit organizations there are in your area that you are interested in getting involved with for this project. Homeless shelters, senior centers, adult daycare, environmental projects, meals on wheels, the Red Cross... if you choose something that you have an interest in, you will enjoy this project even more and may even choose to continue to participate beyond what is required for your project.

Adults are age 18 and over. Forget the high school. How about a senior center, YMCA or food pantry?

366 ideas for community service. They may not all be "nursing" related but you could tweak the idea and do something that would relate.
