Serious poop discussion

Published

I am graduating this semester, but throughout school I always had a strange phenomena. If I am getting down and dirty cleaning up a patient with a serious code brown, I smell the distinct odor of their feces. Over the next day or two, my flatulence smells nearly identical to theirs. My friends think I'm nuts. I am not crazy, why is this happening? Google has failed me.

Edit: If someone could move this to general nursing student discussion, I would appreciate it. Although I am asking for assistance, I think it fits more there. Thank you!

First we cannot give medical advice...if you have concerns you need to see your PCP.

Second....I know of NO condition that will cause your feces to smell like the patients unless you are infected with the same C Diff.

Damn. You're about as fun as a box of dead kittens. I wasn't looking for medical advice, and most of patients are negative cdiffs. Sarcasm is wasted here. I wasn't that serious, dog.

your original post does not come off as being sarcasm. It sounds like someone who is being paranoid about their "poop" or someone who just wanted to post something stupid. Why don't you google how write a sarcastic satire so people actually get the point of your post.

Understand what I'm sayin "dog"

Hahaha I've actually experienced the same thing and was just talking about this the other day with some coworkers. No idea what the deal is, but you are not alone!

Your first post was an attempt at sarcasm? Understanding the meaning of that word, I don't see it. Your second post, however, comes a bit closer-- though the word "rude" comes more readily to mind.

My dude. Satire is sarcastic by nature. Saying sarcastic satire is like me calling you a goofy goofball. It's unnecessary. What's wrong with a stupid post? You need a little stupidity in your life. No reason to walk around with a stick up your bum 24/7. Pull that **** out and relax man.

Your initial post is like a flash back of an overload of poop posts from a time long ago; perhaps you have took a peek from those posts, or rather, take a look at those again...:whistling:

Yeah, I have to say that your initial post doesn't come across as even slightly sarcastic, especially given your edit. Perhaps your delivery needs some work? Every good satire piece has some clue that it is, in fact, satire.

Personally, I would attribute that to simply an awareness of odors. Most of the time, no matter how rosy or foul, we're rarely aware of our own odors... flatulent odors included.

Well dude, yes everyone needs to have fun with sarcasm/ humor in life. But there is nothing humorous about any of your posts. You come off as rude, so go back to smelling your **** and have fun.
