It is just over 6 weeks and with the large influx of applications I am sure that they are receiving you have to give them a bit of time

No need to wait for confirmation before starting to review for the CRNE, there is a lot of material to cover, the more you study the better your chances of passing.

thank you for replying:) its hard to find a review materials for crne here in the philippines. im reading Kaplan book (Basic).... im hoping that i will receive a confirmation this coming week. after receiving the confirmation..how many months do i have to wait in order to take the CRNE? because i have a pending application for a student visa in UK. my visa is good for one year only. is it okey if i will continue my student visa application will preparing for my CRNE? thank you

Only you can decide if continuing the UK route is open for you, remember in the UK you will not be gaining RN experience and CRNE is totally different to the US (reason I say this is because you are talking about Kaplan and I don't think they do any CRNE material)

Silverdragon102 is correct. Kaplan doesn't have any resources for the CRNE, which is a VERY different exam from the NCLEX. If you're studying for the CRNE using NCLEX resources, you will almost certainly fail. And it won't be because the material you've covered is useless but because it isn't the material that's on the exam. Studying from NCLEX resources for the CRNE is like studying high school science for a social studies exam. You need to find a copy of the CNA prep guide, and maybe either Mosby's or Lippincott's CRNE resources.

As far as continuing with your UK student visa goes while awaiting CRNBC approval, there's nothing that says you can't, if you have the money, time and

desire to to so.

Hi! I sent my application along with all the requirements to crnbc. It was received on april 2009 accdg to my profile on their website. The fee for the application was also charged from my credit card a month after. It's been almost 6 months now and I just found out that my friend (also sent her application on april) received a letter from crnbc last month(october)that says her application is being reviewed. I still haven't received any letter/ notification that my application is being reviewed so I checked my application status from the crnbc website and it says there not reviewed. I have no idea what to do. Should I call them or just send an email? pls help:cry:

Contact them.

Bear in mind that Canadian nursing Colleges have been swamped with overseas application and the applications of new grads within Canada.

It also took about 6 months for me to hear from them but I was unable to take the exam and had to renew my file. And the second time around was faster but I had to phone them as they had not confirmed anything in writing. Would not hurt to call but think you are way to early in the game. The prediction for gaining registration in Canada is about a year. But once you are approved to write the exam you also qualify for temporary registration and can gain employment which is another measure that must be met to obtain full registration. Once you gain approval you can apply to take the exam but there are cut off dates as to when the application must be submitted to take the exam. Don't think you will be able to make the cut off for February but likely June will work. I think the exam resources are changing after February 2010 as far as the CNA prep guide is concerned though but you would be able to try Lippincott's and/or Mosby in the meanwhile that are geared towards CRNE (make sure not to use Mosby/Lippincott for NCLEX). Although Kaplan may not be geared towards CRNE they have excellent test taking strategies which may be of some use.
