I attended a private, high-priced vocational LVN program that was 12 months long. It was divided into 5 levels, with each level lasting about 2.5 months in duration. If you are attending a private program, you probably will not be dealing with semesters or quarters at all. Typically, the concept of semesters and quarters seems to be totally absent from the curriculum and scheduling of private LVN programs. Good luck with your schooling!
We have levels... I'm part time, so each level is approximately 8 months long (which would translate to about 4 months per level in the full time class). I'm almost finished with Level 1 (the Freshman class) and Level 2 (considered Sophomore at that point) starts in October, and Level 3 (Senior level) starts next June.
Our nights and weedends LPN program is basically the first year of the ADN program broken up into two traditional "school years". So, it took me two "years" (approx nine months each) to get through the LPN program. My first semester was August 2005-December 2005; second semester January 2006-May 2006; then second "year" third semester August 2006-December 2006; and fourth semester was January 2007-May 2007.
This year I'm going into the days full-time program to finish up my ADN. I have only two semesters left; the Aug 2007-Dec 2007 then the Jan 2008-May 2008 which these last two semesters are considered the third and fourth semesters of the ADN program!

So my nights/weekends LVN program starts Sept 4th, I am so excited! Can y'all tell me if you think it will be semesters or quarters? Or somewhere in between? In college, we had semesters like normal, 4 or 5 classes per semester, right? Is this going to be along the same lines? 4 or 5 classes per semester? The program is 16 months. I would imagine Fall, SPring, Summer, Fall. Right? Give me some input much appreciated.
