Selected for urine test and used hand sanitizer

Published

So I usually use hand sanitizer and never had a problem but now I'm worried because I stupidly sniffed my hand to see if they still smelled like gloves after I used it. Right after I did that I had instant regret. I'm worried I'll test positive for alcohol now. I've never drank since I've been in a recovery program. And I don't have a substance problem. Do yall think I'll be positive? Should I go pee a few times before I test? Any info is helpful.

I often had to go after work. I iust sipped water and  ate a lunch rich in protien such as Tuna Salad, Chicken or PBJ and avoided bathroom breaks.  This routine kept me from getting a dilute urine.

thank you. I'm def doing these prior to testing

Ah okay. Yes my lawyer is very well versed in these issues. I'm just going to follow what he says. I got so scared when they told me I was being investigated for my entire stay at that hospital that didn't even trust myself. But I got a lawyer right away, I'm too sensitive and an emotional person to be logical in these situations. Just to avoid conflict I'd admit to *** even if not committed just to move on. But when it comes to my patient I would advocate and argue with the meanest heart surgeons. Anyway thank you for listening... and all the advices. I'm sure I'll be asking more questions.... I truly from the bottom of my heart appreciate each and everyone of you who take the time to respond. 💕💕

one more thing when you check to see if you're selected that day to go testing, do you check multiple times or just once? I wake up at  5 am everyday so I'm planning to check in at that time. Do I have to continuously keep checking ? the lady told me to check in between 4am-3pm.

Just check in once Monday through Friday including holidays. It's either test or don't.

Agree with just giving the "right answers. " Ever have alcohol or marijuana? "  nope.  I like to have a clear mind.  I'd probably admit to the Norco if it was prescribed to you within the past 12 months.  The evaluator may ask for hair or nails. I'd love to see you escape a monitoring agreement.

So u have between those hours to check in is what that means. Be mindful of the hours of operation of the testing sites you use

I would love that too. So, I got some 3 evaluators but they are all LMSW. what questions do they ask? when I self reported I proclaimed stress, cus I still didn't know what the board was investigating me. I did leave my job due to stress, I said on my resigning letter that I was feeling suicidal. (ugh the things I've said- should've never opened my mouth). Oh I would love to escape this, but I don't think it will happen. I still have to do some sort of probation from BON.

I thought the evaluators were all doctors and addictionologist? I'm so lost with this darn thing...

Was there any allegation of substance use for you?  If it's just mental health it could be less time and no drug screens but you had the two missing pills? I'd say it was an acute stress you had passive fleeting SI at the time you wrote the letter or even Say your mood has been good other than that time you have great support exercise ,sleep and ear well. I think they might give you a monitoring agreement but if you get your lawyer to give you the name of an evaluator  for the real and independent evaluator  you might knock time off. Be strong during the evaluation.  No tears. It's usually a psychiatrist or addictionist where I am. It sounds like they don't know about the pills, did you tell them?

so a quick update for anyone that is about to go through this process.

I had my first test. it was a urine test, opt 1. I still haven't had my evaluation yet, but since they suspect diversion, they had me test via recoverytrek. On test day, I went when they opened- 8am, I couldn't give 45ml, so I decided to go back later that day. I was freaking out on how much to drink or what to eat because I knew I had to go test later that day. I ate pasta w/marinara sauces (without alcohol), and a lot of fermented food just 30 minutes before testing. this is my normal diet (fermented food) so I wanted to know if I had a false positive than I was going to change my diet. at that point I said screw it. I had cooked with rice wine just one week prior to testing and I eat a lot of kimchi, with every meal. I was worried sick, but I just got my result and it was negative. I scheduled my evaluation at the end of the month to buy more time in case they test hair, although my last alcohol intake was in august ( just one drink), now im worried that is going to show, other than that my tests are going to be boring (negative) all the time. either way I don't think ill escape this program...

I have also used hand sanitizer at work non stop an a lot. it's a habit, and I'm OCD so I use it a lot!! I don't smell it though ....

they didn't make me pay again. They said just come back whenever within the hours. The guy there was very familiar with our nursing assistance program and he said smth like   'oooh they love to take your guys' money, they won't let you go for a long time now, hang in there.’ I have no problem peeing in a cup, me and my god  knows I'm clean so I'm not even embarrassed. I just hate to do everything else
