Second Degree in _____?

For those of you who have gone back to school, are in school, or just plain pondering it (like me)........

Would you get a second bachelors or masters in something other than nursing?

If yes, what?

MPH? MSN? .......

I am thinking of returning to school to get a Bachelors' in Spanish, I figure it should come in handy in the hospital with our growing spanish speaking population.

My degree will be in Interdisciplinary Studies, which in my case is alternative healing. I am going to follow Charles suggestion and get a masters in some kind of nursing. I'm kind of fascinated by the weather as well.

I have a BM (Bachelor of Music) degree in film composition and an AS in nursing and a BS degree in nursing. Any more letters after my name and I'll need a longer name tag!:D

(I actually put all of those letters after my name once for a paper I wrote on music and humor!)

PS - If I ever did get another degree, it would be a Masters degree music composition.:)

Well, if I ever decide to go back to school, I would pursue an MSN. In what area, I do not know. I do not want to have to take the GRE to apply for grad school, first of all. Second of all, I don't even have my school loans paid off from my BSN. And thirdly, I am happy being a staff nurse for now. I have no interest in becoming management. I am an RN and am happy with that. I aslo have my BSN and I just don't think that I will ever go back to school.

I will either go to Springfield for my CRNA, or KCOM for Med School. Ill let my MCAT score decide which i do :)

I have a BS in psych. I say go for whatever you are interested in! It seems in today's world you can weave your varied interests together to make a great career.

I have a friend with a Bachelor's in health administration. She's now applying to a nurse anesthesist program! Another friend who felt she was "just getting too old for bedside nursing" went back to school to get a degree in health & a teaching certificate. Now she teaches at a private school & loves it!

If you feel going back to college would be too cumbersome, consider getting some type of additional certification. Many hospitals offer small shift differentials for these!
