Hello!
I hope I am posting this question in the correct thread/section. I'm a senior nursing student from Cleveland, about to graduate in Jan 2016. I am looking extremely hard to find a nurse residency in the Seattle area. I was confused about UW's nursing residency program. It seems that it's listed as a "job posting" rather than a typical application. For example, UCLA's RN Residency program is very clear. Applications are due Oct 5-11 and interview invites sent out in November and you will hear back if you are accepted in December.
I'm just a bit confused about UW's program and how it works.
Also, I was wondering if anyone knew if Swedish's Residency program dates are only in July, August and November? Will I have to wait that long and go on without a job (once I pass my NCLEX) until July?
Thank you for taking time to read this! Any information would be extremely helpful!
Hey guys! Congrats on getting interviews and moving along with Swedish! I actually have my 2nd interview tomorrow morning with the hiring manager for the General Medical unit New to Acute Care program, and was wondering if anyone on this forum (or who may stumble across this forum) could share some insight on their interview? I assume the New Grad residency and New to Acute Care programs may have similar questions.
Goodluck to all SMC applicants!
So the recruiter emailed me today that they chose another candidate for the first hill step down icu position (not sure how many they accepted, I don't think very many), but they liked me and recommended I interview for another unit... I have another skype interview with the Cherry Hill Neuro ICU on Friday. Haven't heard about the cardiac telemetry unit I interviewed for so not sure what that means. Fingers crossed I get neuro, I'd actually prefer that over step down and tele.
Hello ZAR963, I also got an email that I didnt get the position for General Medical unit. I kinda expected it because I didn't do well on the interview. The nurse manager told me that they were only hiring one for their floor on General Medical. I'm still waiting for the General Surgical unit and according to the recruiter, they're still deciding. I hope they call me for another interview for another unit. Good luck on your upcoming interview!
