Seattle University (Seattle U) BSN Fall 2021

Published

Hi everyone, it might be a little early but I wanted to start a forum for SU's 2021 BSN applicants! I'm applying as a transfer student from a community college in California. I'm curious about everyone else's experience as a pre-nursing student and the schools they plan on applying to.

I've yet to complete my organic Chemistry course (my school doesn't offer one course with both organic and inorganic) and my pre-calculus course to satisfy the prerequisites. Right now I'm trying to find volunteer work, but with the pandemic, there's not much out there.

Feel free to share anything, I'm super curious about everyone's stats!

@BSNPROSPECTS hey, I just paid the deposit. Once you log in into your SU account, click on the deposit. And then choose your start term and just follow the prompts. It’s a deposit so that’s why it is not listed as a payment.

@Anhton I see it now! Thank you so much!

Is anyone still completing their prerequisites? I’m doing my last class. And just wondering, since I got accepted already, does it mean as long as I got higher than a “C” in this prerequisite class . It will be enough?

@April Yang that's a good questions I'm unsure of! I'm doing my last prereq ... calculus. I'm curious to know as well!

I remember that the minimum requirement for each class is 2.0, which is quite low.

Yea just stay above a minimum 3.0 in the pre-reqs! You certainly can get below a 3.0 in a class but you just have to get a 3.0+ total GPA. What are you doing right now? What's your grade?

I’m doing Ochem. And currently I’m at 3.7. My final is at tomorrow so The question just came to me. Haha

I still need to do Precal in Spring. However, I want to see if I can just pass the test with CLEP.

I don't think Ochem is a pre-req for SU! I'm taking Ochem next semester!  @April Yang which college do you go to? I heard the professor at South Seattle is difficult for Ochem. But below are the prereqs. The Chemistry of life is inorganic I believe!

  • MATH 1010 or higher
  • CHEM 1200 Chemistry of Life
  • BIOL 2220 Microbiology
  • PSYC 1200 Introduction Psychology
  • BIOL 1200 and BIOL 1210 Anatomy & Physiology
  • PSYC 3220 Growth & Development
  • BIOL 1100 Introductory Biology
  • MATH 1210 Statistics
  • NURS 3705 Nutrition

Oh~ right. I take it for the other schools. Thx for reminding me! I completely forget that SU doesn’t require Ochem!

and I’m taking classes at LWTech. It was pretty easy since classes are all online. However, they just raise the requirement points for all grade. Getting an A is harder now.

Calc is a pre-requisite? I thought Math1010 was business algebra?

Wait, O chem isn’t a prerequisite for SeattleU?! No way! I thought it was that’s why I took it this quarter.

It is pre-cal. If that math class you take or took is higher than math 1010. It still meets the requirement.
