Hi everyone! It might seem early, but I wanted to start a forum for SU's 2022 BSN applicants ?
I'll be applying as a transfer and still need to finish my pre-calculus course to satisfy the prerequisites. I have a 3.76 GPA for my transfer degree, and almost 5,000 hours of hospital work as a CNA. I am a little bit nervous because I repeated some classes due to classes expiring and need to find some volunteer experience (I have none).
I'm interested in other's pre-nursing experiences and the schools they plan to apply to. Feel free to share about yourself during this stressful yet exciting time!

For those who are planning to start in the fall, where do you plan on living? Do you already live in the area? They do not offer transfer student housing on campus and I am from out of state!
Hi, I am from the 2023 Transfer cohort. I live in Wa so I saved money by commuting from home. However, I have friends who lived off-campus. A few things to consider:
- Are you planning on bringing your car or taking the bus? You may need a car for clinical. If you are lucky, you get to carpool with someone, or your clinical site is in Seattle/near the school. If you do bring your car Seattle, I do not recommend pumping your gas in Seattle since it is expensive. You may have to drive up north or south from Seattle to pump your gas. I took the bus before and it is not too bad.
- Do you want to live on campus or off-campus? Sometimes living off-campus is cheaper. SU offers on-campus housing for transfer students, but it can be pricy and spots are limited. I believe there are facebook groups if you are searching for housing.
If you have any more questions, feel free to privately message me.

Congrats getting into UW!
You may probably have to contact the admissions counselor to change your status.

May I know what is your GPA and something others? Cuz I am on waitlist now..
Yes! Are you referring to SU or UW?
This is what I had for both applications:
GPA is 3.5, I have over 2000 hours in healthcare experience, I’m currently a pediatric critical care tech and I have my CNA license. My job helped a lot with expanding my clinical experience. I retook my lowest grade at a CC and received a 4.0. I made sure to have leadership, community, volunteering hours VERY IMPORTANT. Wrote my essays like I was telling a story and made sure to have friends or advisors read it! ?
Thanks for your kindness!
I am referring to SU! I actually did applied to UW but I got rejected recently..
I live in California which I am an out of state applicant. I guess this might affected badly to my application.
My GPA is 3.92 and I have only 100 hours in healthcare experience as volunteer. I made sure to have leadership while working as a student ambassador in my college as well. But I literally have a few of volunteering hours due to covid-19, the hospital rock down for a while to volunteers including me. I wasn’t sure my essay that I got confirmed from current nursing student who is my friend and my school writing center tutor. I don’t really know what should I do from on? Do you have any advice for me now? Thank you SO much! And again congratulations ?

Yes, I have. The first round of waitlist status update is not making any offers. They will continue to monitor and if a spot is available, they will reach out. However, I have submitted a letter of continued interest to show my enthusiasm and gratitude for considering me (being offered the waitlist). I made sure that I mention that they are my #1 choice of school.
I am also applying to PLU's new ABSN program. I had an interview and spoke with the site director yesterday. I will hear in 2 weeks if I will get admitted. They are hoping to start this Fall. If not, Spring2023.
Good luck on your nursing journey!

Hi there, I currently live around the area of the university. However, I’m not sure on what options to choose for you I know renting out an apartment wouldn’t be ideal for a college student budget. I’ll say try asking/tagging students of previous years or call your advisor and ask the options are available for you.
