Hi everyone! It might seem early, but I wanted to start a forum for SU's 2022 BSN applicants ?
I'll be applying as a transfer and still need to finish my pre-calculus course to satisfy the prerequisites. I have a 3.76 GPA for my transfer degree, and almost 5,000 hours of hospital work as a CNA. I am a little bit nervous because I repeated some classes due to classes expiring and need to find some volunteer experience (I have none).
I'm interested in other's pre-nursing experiences and the schools they plan to apply to. Feel free to share about yourself during this stressful yet exciting time!

Hi there! Thanks for starting this! I will also be applying to the fall 2022 BSN cohort as a transfer. I only have a 3.5 but am contemplating retaking A&P II to bump my GPA a bit. I also have 5,000 experience hours as well!
Do you know what the average accepted GPA typically is?

Hi! I'm also applying as a transfer for fall 2022 BSN. I only have a 3.37 GPA and still have precalculus, A&P II, and Microbiology to take. I took some of my prereqs during my undergrad at UW but did not do so well so I've repeated some of those classes. I worked as a CNA/med tech at an assisted living facility for about 2 years (~2,600 hours) and am now working as an ER tech. I plan on applying to UW, WSU, HU as well as community colleges. I am nervous but hopeful that I still have a chance of getting in! ?

Hi all! I am also applying to the Fall 2022 cohort. I am just starting to write my essay which is the most nerve wracking portion for me.
I have a completed transfer associates degree and I just need to complete the precalculus math course for prerequisites. My prerequisite GPA is 3.74. It lowered from a 3.95 because I sadly received a C in statistics last quarter because my son was hospitalized with RSV and I was unable to sit for the final exam. I am planning to retake statistics next quarter but they won't be able to review a better grade for admissions so hoping it won't hurt my application too much. ittybittygal, on the BSN admissions video on the website they published the average admitted GPA for 2019 and I believe it was something along the lines of 3.75 overall and 3.6 for prerequisites...but don't quote me on that!
I also have ten years of healthcare related work experience and a fair amount of healthcare volunteer experience over the last ten years as well.

Hey Everyone,
My name is Jessica and I'm currently a Junior in the BSN transfer cohort! I see some people worried about their GPA and repeating classes and just want to offer some comfort that I had to retake 2 pre-reqs which bounced my GPA from roughly a 3.5 to a 3.8. I also know students who got accepted with lower GPA's. SU looks at their applicants in a holistic way, GPA isn't everything.
After I applied in December, I updated SeattleU with my transcripts each quarter showing my improved grades and continuous / consistent academic achievements.
Best of luck!

Does anyone remember the questions they’ve had or recommend any, to help prepare those who are getting ready for their interviews this upcoming month?
also how many people get invited to an interview vs the amount of spots open for the BSN program?

I don’t know the answer to your second question, but I’ll attach a screenshot that I found in another allnurses thread from either 2021 or 2020 about su interview q’s!

I received an interview invite as well. I am hoping that I will ace this virtual interview. Any tips and suggestions? Congratulations to those who received the invitation and best of luck to all of us!
