Seattle University BSN applicants???

U.S.A. Washington

Anyone waiting to hear back for the BSN transfer program at Seattle U to start Fall 2009?? I sure am...I'm going crazy!

I know we're not supposed to hear until April, but when I called to fix something on my application last month, I asked when to expect to hear back and she told me the beginning of March. I am driving myself crazy waiting for March!

Anyway, there are so many admissions topics on here, I figured I'd post one for SU.

Have you heard anything? I got put on the waitlist :(

I heard today in the mail- small envelope. Its not a no but its definitely not a yes! I have a feeling they put all the qualified but denied applicants on the list- as in, everyone that has passing grades and such.

Hi mlr03,

How are you? I just wanted to follow up to see what happened with your wait-list status. I applied this year and was wait-listed for Seattle U BSN. How did it pan out for you? How long were you in the lurch?

Hope you're doing well!

:)

I have two questions for everyone in this thread who applied to the Seattle Univ. program; what were your prereq grades/overall college gpa; and what other schools are you considering in the Seattle area? I will be applying near Olympia as well. Thank you, and best of luck!! Any updates?

Sorry Seattlerainsun that I did not see your reply sooner. I hope everything worked out for you; I did get taken off the waitlist in May 2009 and will now graduate from SU in August 2011.

My GPA was about a 3.9 or so. I took all my classes at different schools so I'm not really sure on a pre-req/total cumulative GPA. I didn't have much experience in a health care setting which is why I think I was waitlisted. Most the people in my class are above the age of 25 and had many years to gain experience. I am only 21 and thus do not have the life/work experience that most do.

Wow. Congrats on getting in the program and on your upcoming graduation date!

Well, I definitely do not have a 3.9 in my prereqs - it's looking like solid B's across the board. I am largely unfamiliar with nursing schools in WA; is Seattle U considered hard to get into? Do you have any other schools you could recommend in the area? Thank you!

This is for seattlerainsun. I am moving from AZ to WA in early March to start doing pre-reqs and i'm in your same situation. I have my BS in Business and trying to figure out what is the best way to transition into nursing. Any post-bac MSN programs seem way to expensive and rigorous. On the other hand the ADN route is to lengthy and some of the pre-req's are repetitive from already holding a BS. I noticed that UW has a fast-track BSN that looks promising, I by the way want to keep the option open for CRNA or NP after becoming RN. BSN fast-track seems the most logical. My concern is still cost and how hard is it to get in? What did any of you in similar situations end up doing? Thanks. In the meantime I am moving to Seattle in March and starting SCCC for pre-reqs.

Hello,

Did anyone out there apply to the 2011 transfer BSN program?

I applied for fall 2011 :) I'm deffinitely nervous about hearing back. I'm sort of opposite with everyone. My GPA isn't great but I have a lot of experience in healthcare. I volunteered in the ER and took a CNA course. About to take the test for that this next month! I know my essay was great so it's just up to my grades :(

Yes, my grades are not great either. That is the only worry I have though eek! I have been an lpn for 2 years, so I hope that helps some... good luck!

I looked on my application status online and it moved to being reviewed at the moment. I hope it won't take too long! I want to find out before my spring break is over so I know what classes to take in the spring..
