I thought I would start a thread for applicants to the 2016 MSN for Non-Nurses: Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion at Seattle University. I am applying for the Family Nurse Practitioner specialty. Any other applicants for this cycle? Questions and comments regarding the program and admissions process are welcome!
Happy New Year! We are getting closer to a decision! The SU website says they will be reviewing applications in the 2nd and 3rd weeks of January. It looks like interview invitations went out in waves starting at the beginning of February last year. My AppTracker also says "Pending Faculty Review", which sounds promising.
Hi all,
I applied for the 2016 cycle as well - another for the PMHNP track. I'm a bit nervous as to how much weight is given to undergrad GPA. Mine was "ok" at a 3.4 but that really doesn't seem competitive with scores I've seen here and elsewhere. My pre-req scores and GRE are high and I have both volunteer and paid healthcare experience, including mental health care for an under-served population, which I'm hoping will help counteract the GPA a bit. I really hope I make it to the interview stage - currently my application is "pending faculty review."
What other accelerated programs have people applied to? Anyone else also apply to the SU BSN program as a back-up?
I applied to the Midwifery track this year, and my application now also says "pending faculty review". I'm hoping that's a good thing! I am applying with a Bachelor's in Public Health and (about) a 3.6 pre-req GPA and a 3.7 cumulative GPA. I feel like my letter of intent was pretty solid, and that my letters of recommendation were also solid, but my GRE scores were mediocre. I have a lot of volunteer/internship experience, so I'm hoping that's taken into consideration! Good luck everyone!
I applied to the PMHNP track. The app tracker says my application is "pending faculty review." I haven't received the email that roxxykel mentions. Hope that's not bad news! ;-( I just put in a call to the SON to check on status. Wonder if they are contacting applicants by specialty? Those of you have received the email, what tracks did you apply to?
I did contact the Associate Dean of Graduate Education for the Nursing program, right after I posted here actually, and was told that I should have received an email. She said that everyone who applied should have received one and they still haven't decided who they are inviting for interviews yet. I checked with the email on my profile with the graduate school, but it seems to be correct. I assume my spam filter must have eaten it, and it was emptied literally just the other day. Boo. I'll just have to be more diligent about making sure nothing gets accidentally filtered out
Was the info in the email pretty much what you posted above?
Thanks for your help! Cheers!

Also--the status on the My App Tracker says "pending faculty review". What is everyone else experiencing?
