  1. littlefeets, I turned in my application really early actyally.
  2. I was wait-listed
  3. @ncastle That's awesome! Congrats! I sent in my application in November too, so hopefully I will hear back soon too. What's your background/academic history if you don't mind telling? I am kinda frustrated that they don't give us a date to expect a call by. It would be nice to know when they should call!
  4. I applied to the Midwifery track this year, and my application now also says "pending faculty review". I'm hoping that's a good thing! I am applying with a Bachelor's in Public Health and (about) a 3.6 pre-req GPA and a 3.7 cumulative GPA. I feel like my letter of intent was pretty solid, and that my letters of recommendation were also solid, but my GRE scores were mediocre. I have a lot of volunteer/internship experience, so I'm hoping that's taken into consideration! Good luck everyone!
  5. Oh my gosh! They admit this early?? I just sent mine through today. I have a BS in Public Health, 3.7 undergrad and ~3.5 pre-req, and I think I got a: 154 R, 137 Q, and 3 W. Aka I bombed the GRE I also submitted my application for the women's health\midwifery track. I have a lot of experience with volunteering in women's health so I'm hoping that will really help!
  6. Hi! I've been reading a bunch of your comments, and I would love to hear a little more about you! I am currently applying to ABSN-MSN Midwifery schools, and I read from one of your previous posts that you applied to similar schools that I am looking at. Where exactly did you get in? And what were your stats (if you don't mind sharing)? I want to estimate my odds of being accepted somewhere a little bit. Thanks!
  7. I have it so that you can search for it on Facebook, but not everyone can see what's being posted. Try and search it again and let me know!
  8. I made a Facebook group of any of you want to join!! Look for OHSU Accelerated Bachelor's to Master's/DNP Applicants 2015
  9. I couldn't find that page, but I created one for OHSU! https://www.facebook.com/groups/472681966236370/
  10. Hi everyone! I previously posted a thread about OHSU's ABSN-MSN Midwifery program, but I accidentally listed it on the Oregon nursing page rather than this one. But anyway, I am currently applying to Midwifery schools and I was wondering if I could get some advice! I am graduating in the spring with a degree in Public Health, my GRE scores were average, and my GPA is a 3.7 cumulative and 3.6 pre-req. So I am currently applying to OHSU, U of Seattle, and Birthingway. I am really nervous about applying to OHSU because I know that around 10 are accepted per cohort, but I really don't know much about the other two programs. Are there any past/current applicants that could give me some insight on these programs? (edit**)- I read on OHSU's page that accepted applicants are usually 24-30 (about.. I forgot the exact ages they listed). Does this mean that OHSU usually does not admit students right out of bachelor's programs? I am worried that I will be at a disadvantage because I am young and that I am applying directly from a bachelor's program. Though I do know that Birthingway is NOT a nursing degree, it is a midwifery certification. I was a bit skeptical about the whole direct-entry midwifery thing at first, but from my research, it could be comparable to doula training. I am going to be graduating with plenty of loans, so if I don't get in to any ABSN-MSN programs, I still want the option to work as a midwife in a couple years. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on direct-entry programs/Birthingway? Also, is there any other programs that anyone suggests I apply? I would really really appreciate any input!
  11. I just asked one of the advisors, and she said that you specify which you want in the essay and the supplemental application. I wonder if they prefer one over the other though.
  12. Hi everyone! I just started my application for OHSU's ABSN-MSN/DNP in Midwifery program, so I figured I should start a thread like there was for previous cohorts since I have a bunch of questions about the application. To start: I noticed that there is only one application for admission to both programs (ABSN-MSN and ABSN-DNP), does the single application cover both programs? Or would I need to apply twice if I were to apply to both? Is it possible to apply to both? I originally was only going to apply to the ABSN-MSN program, but if the ABSN-DNP is also an option I wouldn't mind also applying to it. Though I would assume the ABSN-DNP competition is tougher than the ABSN-MSN, is that true? Or are there less applicants making it less competitive? I would love really any insight on the programs and the application processes!
