Seattle University APNI 2019 Applicant Questions?

Hi All,

I remember when I was applying to Seattle U's APNI (Advanced Practice Nursing Immersion) program a couple of years ago there was no information for me out there! So I wanted to circle back and answer any questions applicants or potential applicants might have. I finished the APNI portion last spring and now am in the first year of the primary care FNP/AGNP track.

Good luck to all.

Hello! I'm a fellow applicant. I saw this board but didn't have any questions, so I've been watching to see if more joined.

I applied for the Nurse Midwife tract. I live in Washington, just south of Seattle in Tacoma, so I've had a chance to visit the school and go to several information sessions.

Oh cool! How did you like it?

Everyone I've interacted with at the school, which isn't really that many, have been very nice and helpful. The school itself is located next to several hospitals, including the states only Level 1 Trauma Center (Harborview). The campus isn't very large, but it is beautiful. There are lots of natural areas outside to sit or paths to walk. It is near downtown and is surrounded by lots of coffee shops, bars, and restaurants. Traffic in the area is crazy and parking is always a pain (for me at least). I work for the state department of health so have been across the street from the school for meetings a handful of times so I'm semi-familiar with the area.

That's so great to know; thanks! I'll only be able to visit campus if I get an interview. Oh did you hear anything about when they would give out interview invites this year?

They said pretty much the same thing as the website - that invites to interview would start going out late January/early February. Lots of time for us to wait anxiously!

Where do you live now?

Yeah that's what I was thinking! Seattle has a really late interview notification date.

I live in the Chicago area!

Nice, some of my favorite professors are the midwives!

Hi everyone,

I am also applying this year for the midwifery APNI and I am extremely nervous. I don't have the best marks but have been working in the medical field for awhile. :( I am hoping my passion can carry me over into the interview rounds. I wish everyone luck!

Hello everyone! I just submitted my application for APNI-FNP track. I was wondering if anyone's transcript status has been checked off yet? My status says, "Awaiting" and I'm just wondering when this will be cleared off.

Congrats on your application! Mine have been checked off and says "received" next to it. I had one that I ordered later than the others and it had a red mark next to it until the day it was received.

Well today's the deadline, y'all! Good luck to y'all - hopefully we get interviews.

Has anyone gotten any application status updates or anything similar? Is it just wait time until late Jan/early Feb now?

I was wondering the same, and have not received anything. I actually submitted the application quite early (a month or so early) and never received any confirmation to date.
