I was just wondering if anyone out there applied for Seattle U's APNI program. I thought I'd start a thread because it doesn't look like there is one, yet.
I think we're supposed to hear about interviews sometime soon. Has anyone gotten word, yet?
Hi everyone!
I'm interviewing with Seattle University this Thursday for the FNP track also. I'm excited to be at this point in the process. We all know how long and stressful this can be. I just had a group interview yesterday for Samuel Merritt in Oakland, CA...so it will be nice to be able to have a one on one interview and be able to express what I feel is important. For those of you interviewing, Good Luck! Be yourself, relax. My friend goes to the program currently and she said that they're all very supportive and nice, so don't stress.
Maybe we'll end up in the same cohort!
JSBH - I received my MPH in Community Health and Prevention in 2007 and have been working at a health department since. I thought about med school in college, but when I was in public health school I lost interest in becoming a physician and decided to build a career in public health. I've really enjoyed my time working in public health, but I realized that I wanted to do more....I want to work more directly with people concerning their healthcare and prevention practices. I realized that becoming an FNP was a great fit for me. I love how nursing theory incorporates a lot of the same public health principles that I learned in school. So that's my story. I'll definitely keep you posted on what I hear back!
First, good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!
I have a random question: Do any of you know if an interview is mandatory for admission into the program?
Since I have yet to receive an interview invitation or rejection from Seattle University, I re-read the application instructions. The only thing it says is: "6. Interview with program director or other Admission Committee member if requested."
I guess I am just really holding on to any shreds of hope that I might get into the program. Any thoughts?
