Seattle U APNI - 2010 Entry

Published

I was just wondering if anyone out there applied for Seattle U's APNI program. I thought I'd start a thread because it doesn't look like there is one, yet.

I think we're supposed to hear about interviews sometime soon. Has anyone gotten word, yet?

I also received an interview invite today for the FNP track. Hooray!

Congrats! Just wondering, did you guys receive them via regular mail or email?

Email. Check your spam box, though. Some of my messages from them have ended up in there.

I also was invited for an interview. I hope I get in! Seattle U is my top choice.

I think they usually receive over 200 applications and accept 40-50. I could be wrong...

auroroa155, what specialty did you apply for? When are everyones interviews scheduled for?

I also applied for the Psych/Mental Health with addictions focus and received my interview request today :)

Hi everyone!

I'm interviewing with Seattle University this Thursday for the FNP track also. I'm excited to be at this point in the process. We all know how long and stressful this can be. I just had a group interview yesterday for Samuel Merritt in Oakland, CA...so it will be nice to be able to have a one on one interview and be able to express what I feel is important. For those of you interviewing, Good Luck! Be yourself, relax. My friend goes to the program currently and she said that they're all very supportive and nice, so don't stress.

Maybe we'll end up in the same cohort!

Specializes in Pediatrics, Community Health.

My interview is this Friday for FNP. This will be my last nursing school interview so I'm excited to get it over with! :) Good luck to all of you!

I hear ya, MPH. Keep me posted on when you hear from them.

So, why FNP instead of MPH? Did you apply to other MPH programs?

Specializes in Pediatrics, Community Health.

JSBH - I received my MPH in Community Health and Prevention in 2007 and have been working at a health department since. I thought about med school in college, but when I was in public health school I lost interest in becoming a physician and decided to build a career in public health. I've really enjoyed my time working in public health, but I realized that I wanted to do more....I want to work more directly with people concerning their healthcare and prevention practices. I realized that becoming an FNP was a great fit for me. I love how nursing theory incorporates a lot of the same public health principles that I learned in school. So that's my story. I'll definitely keep you posted on what I hear back!

First, good luck to everyone with upcoming interviews!

I have a random question: Do any of you know if an interview is mandatory for admission into the program?

Since I have yet to receive an interview invitation or rejection from Seattle University, I re-read the application instructions. The only thing it says is: "6. Interview with program director or other Admission Committee member if requested."

I guess I am just really holding on to any shreds of hope that I might get into the program. Any thoughts?

Specializes in Pediatrics, Community Health.

I think an interview is required for admission. The interview invite I received had some info in it that led me to believe this. However, I would call them to be sure. Good luck!
