searching for ER myths!!

I am working on a presentation on myths and legend in the emergency. Any ideas of such or where I could find could documentation to back my saying??

If you plan a potluck dinner (nightshift), noone will have time to eat it.

If you are ready for the worst to happen it generally doesn't (concious sedation, cardiac patients), and never take down a drip if a patient doesn't need it any more- it goes straight to the floor with them, connected or not.

Never gloat about someone having "good veins." You will anger the IV gods.

That was one of our superstitions on the floor, I'm betting ER folks believe the same thing!

I actually had a co-worker clamp her hand over my mouth when I started to say the name of a particularly annoying FF. Wouldn't you know, within the hour, she showed up in triage.
