hi there.. i take the qualifying exam in seamen's hospital last april after 1 week they released the names of all the lucky nurses who passed and im one of them. after that i call the nursing service office and ask for the next step after passing the exams they told me that they will call me as soon as there is opening for the job position. after a week i call again and they said that they will call me again for the psyche exam and for medical but until now i haven't receive any calls from them.. im a little worried now.. anyone here working in seamen's hospital who can help me in my problem here? thank you so much :)

hi! |I worked in seamens for 3 years and now i am currently working in middlea east. That time (2005) It is the only hospital who is paying their applicant with a minimum wage from their first day of work but they changed it (2008 up to now i think to 2000 pesos as food allowance fr 2months) still good compared to some hospitals. I have found that working in this hospital are comparable to some hospitals when it comes to benefits. You will be having a free meal, free hospitalisation for you and your dependents(your parents, and siblings below 18)you are entitled to acquire hospital services every week if you/relatives are ill. You will work for 40 hrs /week with 15 days sick leave, 15 days vacation leave. Staff are entitled for 50%payment of IV theraphy, bls, ACLS and masteral as the other half will be shouldered by the hospital.Monthly bonus for twice a year wed 1 sack of rice anyway I hope i can give you recommendations just pm me na lang. Thanks.

hi jorifice! where is this seamens hospital? is this a tertiary hospital? are they accepting applicants? I don't know of a person who can give me a recommendation since I am not in any way related to someone who works as a seaman. Does it disqualify me from applying?

You enlightened our mind and our heart as well. I gave them a ring yesterday and I'm planning to pass all my requirements today, unfortunately I wasn't able to do it, due to some circumstances....I'm very much interested working in that Hospital....We're hoping that you could recommend us to work there...I know God will grant all your wishes and prayers because you're a goodhearted person....Hope to hear good news from you..

Thanks in advance!

Hello guys, I submitted all my requirements this morning and the HR personnel told me that the exam was held just recently March 26, 2010...I was too late, but It's okay..The HR personnel told me that I can call them to follow up about my application..*SIGH*..And take note after submitting all your requirements there, that would not be so sure if you'll qualify to take the exam because the Nursing Service Dep't will be the one to evaluate if you're qualified for the exam..

Requirements:

*Resume

*TOR

*Board Passing Certificate

*Board Rating Certificate

*Updated PRC/PTR/ID

*2 pcs.2x2 and 1x1 pictures

*others..you may write down all documents that you have in hands, if you have all the trainings like BLS,I.V therapy,ACLS, etc.. much better.you have the higher chances to qualify for the exam..

And take note; only 60 people who took the latter qualifying exam..

Good luck to us..

Do they really screen if you are related to a person who is working as a seaman? I'm planning to apply but I don't have someone to back me up. May I know the address please? Thanks!

..You can try, when I submitted my requirements yesterday, the HR personnel didn't ask if I do have relatives who's a member of Amosup..

The Nursing Service Dep't will be the one who'll evaluate if you are qualified or not..

If I were you, you have to submit all your requirements as soon as possible but much better if you have bountiful trainings and seminars certificates....You have the higher chances to get qualified..And about my application, I just have to surrender my luck to Him.He knows everything..

Good luck to us..UNEMPLOYED NURSES!

Thank you very much for posting this! You are a goodhearted person as well. ;) And I know for sure you'll be blessed with your kindness.

Anyway, I just want to ask the difference between the board rating and board passing certificate. I believe I only have the board rating certificate which is the one printed in a bond paper. How exactly does a board passing certificate look like? just wondering..

Board Rating is different from Board Passing Cert: Rating has its list of grades from test I-V that sums up your total grade. Passing on the other hand only bears your over all rating.

Hope this helps :)

Thanks valium RN,RM! :)
