SDSU Fall 2010 BSN program

Published

I've been lurking around allnurses.com for a while, and I finally signed up! I was hoping to find some others that were applying to SDSU's nursing program for Fall 2010. I just submitted my application to the school, and I'm working on the actual nursing app now.

I'm super worried about the point system. While my great are fine (at a 3.71 cumulative), I'm worried about not having any hospital experience. I'm hoping that not having experience doesn't take me out of the running. I'm waiting until the end of this semester, I think, to take the TEAS.

I'd love to hear from any with advice or anyone who is applying for Fall 2010.

what are you guys upto these days??

i havent started doing anything:/

Hello, I'm planning to apply to the BSN program in SDSU for fall 2011, anyone that got accepted this fall will like to share their prerequisites GPA, overall cumulative GPA, TEAS percentage... etc. How many points could you get? I'm a little bit nervous because my overall GPA is barely 3.1 and I have no work experience. Thank you in advance.:clown:

I actually applied using the 2008 criteria, so I don't think it would be useful for you. But let me know if you'd still like to know my stats :)

My webportal says I'm admitted to the school, but as a prenursing major. I haven't received an email or a letter saying I'm accepted or denied into the nursing program.

I'm assuming its because I applied for fall but I was still in progress for classes this spring. Does anyone know if this means I'm out of the running, or are they considering me for the spring 2011 semester now?

I called the nursing school but they're closed until July. The admissions office has no idea and told me to contact the nursing school =/

My stats are:

3.82 Pre-req GPA

3.76 Cumulative GPA

92% on the TEAS

100 hours of community service

Has anyone read the new student info? They require a PDA with nursing central installed.

Oh yeah I'll sell for $100

The PDA they want you to get is the iPod Touch. AND, they will not allow iPhones because of the camera. Nursing Central software, you will buy along with your books at orientation. Let me know if you guys have any more questions. See you guys at orientation!! I'll be volunteering that day to help!

How much money do you recommend we bring to the orientation? I was told a blank check and a credit card for the uniform, but all together, how much would you say everything costs? (rough estimate?)

Rough estimate here... about $1400-$2000. I know that's kind of a big range, but there are books that are optional, and some people buy stuff like stethoscope online for cheaper, and other stuff like that. The uniform is EXPENSIVE, just to let you know so you don't get shocked when you get there.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm excited to get started and really looking forward to orientation. :)

You're so welcome! Believe me, it IS very exciting, and it's going to be a fun day because you will meet your teachers and of course your peers. Congratulations to all you guys... this is a TOUGH program to get into! :yeah:
