SDSU BSN Fall 2019

Published

Hi all! I applied to transfer to SDSU's BSN program to start in 2019. I thought I could start a thread where we all could share our stats and experiences. Here are my stats:

Prereq GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 89.3%

This puts me at 68 points as I have no work experience. Good luck to everyone!!!

I got admitted too! Hopefully this means we got into the SON, but on my portal on "applicant information" where it says "major name" it says "nursing premajor" for me, so this makes me think that this isn't admission to the SON. If someone knows for sure please lmk, thanks!

Congrats!! In regard to your concern about "Nursing premajor" being written in the "major name" section of the web portal, all admitted nursing applicants are coded as "Nursing premajor" when they receive their offer of admission. If an admitted applicant decides to attend SDSU, then his/her major will be changed to "Nursing" before the start of the fall semester. I found this information from the Fall 2017 cohort thread.

Hope this helps!

Have any of you guys gotten an email yet?

I haven't received an email yet. Are any of you RN-BSN like me?

I am just a plain BSN applicant. I graduated high school 2 years ago.

how do you know that it means were on the waitlist? I have 66 points! ?

There is an option on my portal that asked if I would like to be on the waitlist. I selected yes!

Mine just popped up today! Fingers crossed it all works out ?

Anyone have any idea what they’re going to be doing for housing?

No idea yet! Also, does anyone know the expected cost of the program?

Tuition costs roughly $7000-8000 a year for in-state full time students. Additionally, the first year of the program is the most expensive since we have to purchase our books (~$1000), supplies/instruments (~$500), uniforms (~$150), a smartphone app, etc. in addition to paying our tuition. There is also the additional cost for the international experience requirement we have to do in order to graduate...

The program is expensive (just like any other Cal State program), but it's so worth it considering the experience you get in the program and long term outcomes/opportunities you get after the program!
