Hi all! I applied to transfer to SDSU's BSN program to start in 2019. I thought I could start a thread where we all could share our stats and experiences. Here are my stats:

Prereq GPA: 4.0

Overall GPA: 4.0

TEAS: 89.3%

This puts me at 68 points as I have no work experience. Good luck to everyone!!!

-TEAS: 90.7% (9pts)

Good luck to everyone!

Best wishes to you all ? may we all get into our dream schools!!!

Hello everyone! I’m so glad that I found this thread. Hopefully we all can get into the program.

These are my stats

Prereq GPA: 3.95 ( 28 points)

Overall GPA: 3.85 (28 points)

Teas: 90.7 ( 9 point)

Work experience: 5 points

Supposedly the point cut off for last year was 64..I can’t see it jumping up too high in one year, like skipping to 70 or something. We all seem to be decently at or above 66 so I think we have good chances!

Glad to see that more people are joining in! For those of you are are starting to get REALLY excited about admission decisions, I recently spoke with a representative of the SON, and the individual implied that applicant point rankings are due to the Office of Admissions by Feb. 26, so he/she hopes that applicants will start getting notified of admission by the end of February/early March.

It's getting real! Best of luck to all of us!

I’m on a transfer forum on another site and an accounting major got accepted today, so it’s definitely starting!!

I'm super anxious ? do you guys think they will be out by Friday?

I spoke with someone from the Admissions Office today, and the individual said that admission offers for certain majors may not come until the end of March. With that said, I have a feeling that nursing majors are one of the last to be notified of admission because the first indication of acceptance to the SON last year wasn't until March 22nd. Also, I know that I mentioned how nursing applicant point rankings were due to the Admissions Office by Feb. 26, but it's ultimately up to the Admissions Office (not the SON) when they want to start notifying the applicants of admission.

It's really nerve wrecking because I'm sure many of us hope to hear back way before the end of March, but at this point, waiting and staying hopeful are the only things we can do. I'm crossing my fingers for all of us; hope we can all be admitted and go through the program together!

Does anyone have any information regarding admissions from the waitlist? Would acceptances roll out over time, or are applicants notified all at once if they become accepted from the waitlist? I noticed many people who were waitlisted from past cohorts were notified around May, but am unsure whether it could have been earlier for others.

I believe in the Fall 2017 thread, they were notified on March 1st. I could be wrong though. You’d think they would let admins know before the ExploreSDSU day

I am just so nervous! It’s my top choice. I got invited to the LB interview so that makes me feel better.

According to the SON representative and other applicants I consulted with, the SON tries to get 40 transfer students every application cycle. In February/March, the first wave of admission offers is sent to the top 80-100 applicants (based on number of points). If the 40 seats for transfer students isn't filled after the first wave of admission notifications is sent, then admission offers are sent to alternates in small waves thereafter (until the 40 seats are filled).

I would think that applicants are notified all at once in small waves if they are offered admission from the waitlist. Additionally, waitlisted applicants from what I hear are usually not notified until May or until the deadline to accept the offer of admission (for the first wave) passes. Hope this helps!
