SCVMC / VMC - Clinical Nurse I - 2022

Published

Has anyone applied to any of the Clinical Nurse I position at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center in San Jose? If yes, have you received a call/email for an interview, and for which unit?

Also if you are willing to share the questions you were asked during your interview, that would be amazing!! Good luck to all ?

Thanks ?

Hi AaaR_, can you clarify how training works for the extra help position? 12 weeks of didactic training starts September for the new grad program, correct?

How does your schedule, orientation/training, and responsibilities work for the "Extra Help" position from June until Sept?

Thank you in advance!

If I am not mistaken, extra help and full time employees will go through the same training program. It’s 12 weeks of orientation on the floor training, & class.

So far it’s 1 week of orientation, 3 weeks of class  (m-f, 8hrs) & the rest of the the time on the unit.

Also I don’t know about the start dates. I started with a group already for the critical care training program. Do you know if it’s a for a specific unit?

Were you hired already?

Hi AaaR_

I received a verbal offer for Med-Surg Oncology and am waiting for the paperwork ? Everything just happened really quickly and I didn't get the chance to learn everything.

They said start date is July 25th, and I would be receiving additional training from the Sept New Grad Training? (This was from my May application). That's a little unclear to me, so I was hoping you could clarify since it seemed like you started earlier than the New Grad Training date too.

I just wanted to make sure there's some sort of training if I start July.

Thank you in advance!

I was also offered a position, training starts Sept 6th.  the Extra Help does not have benefits nor acquire PTO or sick time.  How is the training going?  Is it structured?  Have you heard good things from people who have gone through the program?
